I hate fat people!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm with HeatherGurl, I think we just don't understand the whole make-up think at a fundamental level.

And thank you for you lovely comment! I needed to hear that this morning! Ok, I need to hear that every morning, but unfortunatly, I don't live with my DH. (boo-hoo for me :cake: )

HELLO!!! We are fat!!! We are drawing attention to ourselves by being this overweight, why not look half assed decent???

I always knoticed people staring at me, but I give them a big smile, and say hello.... I DONT make myself up.. I own 2 pair of pants, 3-4 shirts that I can actually wear and that is what I wear every day every week! I wear my hair in a bun my bangs pulled back and NO makeup pimples on my chin. I have dirty Vans shoes a oversized mens flannel type jacket! I guess you can say I am a Fat Slob!

But I dont care... I dont care how people look at me, and if I do, I get over it pretty fast. Maybe one day I will feel comfortable to get all prettyed up.. but for now, I am just me!

As for other people, I look at them and wonder why they are fat, or as myself if I look like that... but I dont look at them and ask why dont they dress better.. or wear makeup..... And its just me, I dont know!

Maybe we should have a Bandster bash and do makeup and dress up party.

I see it as fat is not the problem, as I have lost tons of weight. And I was even almost normal for about 10 min's. What I think is, that FAT is doing something for me, I am comfortable, and the eating makes me feel loved, warm & satisfied. There's some deeper problems then just the weight, the weight is a side effect of the problem. Some people do drugs, drink, spend, compulsive sex & porn, work, ect............. whatever. We do any number of things not to feel some long ago hurt or abuse. The thing today is to know that you are doing this and you are the only one that is going to be able something about it. This is just my process, and maybe it will help someone. I have become enlighten to the fact that I am FAT. I don't need anyone asking or saying anything about my being FAT, because...... I am the one to bring it up. I am the one to say I have a problem with food, I am the one to ask, "Is that Chair going to hold ME?" There are all kinds of way's to bring it up in my daily life, I am fully aware of my weight. I don't go around wearing stuff that is too small, I am not in denile!!!! I wear stuff that either fits, or stuff that is a little too big, because I have lost weight. Anyway....... I think we should have a "FAT AWARENESS DAY", where all FAT people can come and be themself's, we can talk openly about how we feel, and what (if anything) we are doing about it. Well, it was just a thought.

To "Dody", I know the show you are talk'in about, that lady dressed up as FAT on city street's. Well..... let me tell you, if that lady dressed up down here in my neck of the woods (back wood Florida) she would have been treated just as well as anyone else, in fact she might have had a pass made at her, or maybe been asked out on a date, LOL, no kidding.

Trish~

You sound like you are perfectly comfortable with yourself and you like the way you dress and look!!! That is just awesome!

I wish I had half of your confidence and self esteem!

I dont have self esteem at all... I hate the way I look.. I hate shopping for clothes and I hate putting makeup on right now.. Thats why I dont care, thats why I dont get all pretty, thats why I dont do my hair, or makeup... I just dont care anymore!!!! I think people will judge me wether I dress up or wear makeup.. so why go thourgh the trouble of doing so, only to get the same responce otherwise.

I have read through this thread and find this an interesting topic.

I admit, I am guilty of "looking down" on a person that is fatter than me and needing to feel superior. I'm sure there are other people who look down on me as well. I find myself comparing myself to other fat people and asking my husband if I really look as gross as them. I have such a jacked up body image that I have no clue how big I really am. I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror sometimes and am like WHOA Nelly!! What the hell happened to me?

I know this isn't PC or anything but I am being honest about how I feel. :omg:

DrewsLou~

I know what you are talking about when you said you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror!

When I walk into the mall and catch a glimpse I just about kill over. I see a fat girl and then I realize it is me!

Forgot about that feeling!!! Thanks for reminding me :cake:

I for one was conditioned by my mother. I was heavy all of my life always the fat girl. I also had a birth defect that had one side of my face with a port wine stain and slightly larger than the other. My mother dressed me to the nines. I always had 3 weeks worth of new school clothes before I repeated an outfit. I think in her young mind she was taking attention away from the ' problem areas' and trying to replace them with positive things. I was always known as a great dresser, had shoes for days( still do). I started wearing make-up to camoflauge the birthmark at age 15. The discovery that boys were no longer stupid but cute increased the effort to look flawless. I have a problem with overweight people not taking care of themselves. I mean in appearance. I know that most of the time it is low self esteem, I mean some think why dress up mess. YOu have to understand that you are not what you see in the mirror, you are so much more. I see the before and after pictures where some people look like they just threw on anything that they had in the closet. They didn't wear make-up and didn't even Iron the clothes or had stains on them even. food stains more that likely lol( Just joking). Then the after shot shows them smiling, with make-up nice outfit. Yes your after picture looks great, of course you lost weight but then again you are smiling, dressed nicely and either the hair or make-up has been done. I think all of you on this sight are beautiful people. I put my picture up because I feel great about myself for the first time in my life. I have a weight problem yes but I had more of a self esteem problem because of my birth defect. I don't anymore. I tell all of my family that my lapband family is a God send to me. Yes we are Fat( but not for long), but we have done something about it. We are all beautiful, and loved by somebody. Trish You are beautiful I saw the before pic with your husband. If I were in Colorado girlfriend we would be shopping right now. Getting the hair done and all. We would have a ball. I make shopping fun! I am a true big gurl though I shop at the food court too. LOL

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
