January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Recommended Posts

Ok im back again...where are you guys!:ohmy:

Did my first Spin Class today. And it was actually not to bad. I was SOO nervous.

OK can you COLD!!! Its -10f today and with the wind blowing its -35f!!!

i have no clue how the packers are going to play up here tomorrow!

I off to Green Bay right now (40min drive for me) to shop.

-35f is COOOOOOOOOOOOLLLDDDDDD. It takes your breathe away. I put Gas in the car and nearly died. Oh the Frozen Tundra.

I know what you are talking about there daddy. I'm in the Twin Cities and therm. in my truck read -16 @ 0530 this morning on the way to the gym. SUCKED!!!!! I'm soooo glad I had a remote starter put on my Explorer when we bought it last year. It's saved my hide more than one cold morning.

As my Cowboys choked last week, I have no choice to root for your Pack. No way I can cheer for the Gnats.:( And, the Pack are so much easier to watch than the Vikings over here.

Okay well this week was no week to brag about for me..Exercise was just not happening for me..Two kids sick with colds..And I don't know about anyone else but the weather is not helping at all. I am freezing my butt off here..Anyways hoping for a better week this next week..However I got two more pounds off for a total of -85lbs. So now I have to update everything but I would rather update than not loose anything... I did keep up on cardio so that is good. I have decided to buy some Zumba tapes. Since school started back I have only been able to do it once a week and its just not enough..I want to get better at it... Everybody have a great exercise week. Stefanie, glad your back!

Google Docs - LBT WARRIOR CHALLENGE - Ends March 30th

There is the link to the spreadsheet again. I've gone through the forum and my PM's to get what info I could find. If you sent it to me or posted it here and I missed it, please forgive me! Look at the sheet and if there is something missing on your name, you can post it here or PM me. There is a lot missing. If you like, you can copy this bit below and just fill it in and repost it here. (W=Weight, C=Cardio, R=Resistance)

On a personal note, I am totally sucking at getting my cardio in...I'm eating like crap...I'm stressed to the hilt! I've gained like crazy lately, too, as a result of that, coupled with trying a new eating plan that failed. So not like me.

But did I mention that I withdrew my son from school and am now homeschooling him? It has been very stressful trying to figure out how to find and decide on an appropriate curriculum. He's a sophomore in high school, so it's not like most folks who start when they have little ones. I did finally figure it out, though, and we are doing well so far. Change is just so difficult for me! What a baby I am!

I have kept up my weight lifting...that's easy...such a stress reliever for me. But this is a new week, and I will get back on track with my cardio and eating well!

Stephanie, I can't imagine how hard it is to pick out curriculum for a sophomore..It's been a bad week for me too. But you know what we can do this! I know this week will be better. I hope yours will be too. Change is hard..We can all do this though! Good luck!

Okay so I hit my elliptical at home..But I burnt 450 calories, did forty minutes and some of my zumba moves at home...Not to mention I walked 4.0 miles which is awesome for me! So my baby girl is still so sick so I am hoping hubby will relieve me so I can do some weights tonight...Oh by the way I ordered my Zumba tapes..I am so siked! Have a great day everyone.

Stef - why the homeschooling? What was going on at school?? Glad you're getting it all figured out - my Stepmom homeschooled their kids for YEARS... it was lots of hardwork for her!

Stef:

Thanks for doing this. I hope things settle down. Nothing stresses me more than my family, even when it's all good. I'm trying to prepare for my daughter's wedding in May, and my Mom's 75th birthday party in March, oh and plastic surgery in March and the list could go on. I think you just have to make time and do the best you can. Allow yourself to be imperfect and regroup. Plus you were out of town and traveling always makes be gain weight. You're off your routine and have less control of your diet. You'll be fine. My stats for this last week:

1/20

W= 168

C= 300

R= 320

WHOS - That is so cool that you and MM are making such positive statement out there with y'alls success! And y'all are so cute, to boot! How fun for you...I'm such a camera hound now, I'd be eating it up! LOL

SUZZZIE - I finally had it with the principal. My son was attending the largest high school in Texas, if you can imagine, and I am on a first-name basis with the principal. Not a good thing. He is a waste of flesh. He has gotten away with intimidating parents for so long, he couldn't stand it when I wouldn't just roll over and play ball. And the arrogant S.O.B. was taking his dislike for me out on my son. He effed with the wrong chica. He'll be lucky to remain employed when I get through with him.

JESS - Yes, curriculum was a HUGE obstacle! I hooked up with the homeschool network at my church and found out that Texas Tech has an ISD for K-12, which is AWESOME! So my son will graduate high school from Texas Tech! Can you imagine?!?!? I had no idea such a thing existed!

KAREY - Allow myself to be imperfect...hah! It's very easy for me to admit to everyone else that I'm imperfect, but actually giving myself permission to be imperfect is another thing all together. I'm not good at that! I'm sure I'll be beating myself up pretty good for a while for slacking on the cardio and eating like crap for the first stint since surgery. I've had a slip-up here and there, but not consecutive days ever, much less consecutive WEEKS of bad eating. I did get back on track today, though...so there's progress! I feel like an addict who fell off the wagon after a long time being clean! Terrible, huh?

      I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

      Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

        I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

        Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

        I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

        Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

        Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

        I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

        I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

        BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
