Looking for Central Texas bandsters

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Texans! I am planning to have the lap band done in the very near future. I am a self pay patient, so will probably go to Mexico. I am considering Dr. Rodriquez in Juarez first. If I could find a good surgeon in the states that was close to MX cost then I would consider that also. If you are close to central Texas and have been banded, where do you have your fills and where did you have your surgery? I am excited and scared at the same time! Would love to hear from you!

I live in the Austin area and have been going to True Results on Palmer hope to send in to Insurance on 1-23-08 for approval we have been getting all the requirements to send in. My wife is also planning to have the band also after mine. The people at True Results have been easy to work with I just hope the Atena goes approves the WLS.

Noni,

What part of Central Texas do you live? I live in Killeen Tx and I am planning on being banded by Dr Ganta in Austin (Austin Bariatric Institute). I had my initial consultation with him in Dec. I am using my 401 K to pay for the procedure seeing that my insurance does not cover bariatric surgery.

Hey.. I see the yellowjacket on your avatar! I grew up in Granbury and went to Tarleton for my B.S. I love Stephenville! Great town! My wife and I talk about all those walks in the parks we had while we were dating there.

I was banded in Nov. 07 here in Waco. Dr. Sims.

We used to live on Long Street right with all the old houses and brick paved roads!

By the way... did you see any UFO's the other night? LOL!

No, I didn't see the UFO. It has been rather entertaining. Stephenville is a wonderful place to live. I grew up here and graduated from high school, went to Tarleton, moved to Houston and got married, had children, now moved back to Stephenville to be close to my family.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
