It's difficult at times but I am focused, I want the prize in the end. I will be 45 yrs old on March 18th. I could not think of a better birthday gift to give myself other than this surgery. My daughter is going off to college in the fall and I am sigle so I will have so much more time to devote to bettering me. This is my 1st major step in creating the NU Barb Thanks again for the support

Feb 20th is my surgery date also. I start my pre op diet tomorrow. Boy am I anxious. I really cannot believe that it's going to happen. For those with BMI 35-40?
My BMI is 36 and I have told a few people that I plan on getting the Lp Band. My close friends are very supportive. They know how much I stuggle with my weight. Some people have said negative things but they will never feel what I am feeling unless they too are obese. I would not sneak to drink liquids at work. Be proud of your decision to become a better healthier you. Most of these people have some type of insecuities themselves. WE all carry some type of weight be it physical or not. I hope to have my surgery the 1st week of March. Good luck to you all.

Looking for Central Texas bandsters
Noni, What part of Central Texas do you live? I live in Killeen Tx and I am planning on being banded by Dr Ganta in Austin (Austin Bariatric Institute). I had my initial consultation with him in Dec. I am using my 401 K to pay for the procedure seeing that my insurance does not cover bariatric surgery. Barbara

Hew comer from Texas
Hello Everyone. My name is Barbara and after much reseach and soul searching I have decided to have lap band surgery. My insurance does not pay for weight loss surgery so I am taking a loan out on my 401K. I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember and after making this decision and getting the loan approved, I can breathe a sigh of relief. It's like I see a light at the end of a long dark tunnel. No one who is not overweight or has never been overweightcould ever relate. I hope to have surgery on Feb 20th. There are many appointments still needed. But now it doesen't really matter how long it takes to complete the appointments. I look forward to sharing my experience and gaining experince and tips from people who have been banded already.
