I’m February 22nd! Today is day 4 of my liquid diet. I Protein Shake for lunch and Breakfast. One small grocery meal for dinner. Which is 3 oz on egg chicken or fish. 1/2 cup cooked veggies or 1 cup of raw. 1 tsp of fat. And then two miscellaneous items like sugar free Jello Soup broth popsicle. And of course lots of fluids. Day before surgery is all liquids. I’m meeting all my Protein and fluids but feel so nauseated. Anyone else feel like that ?

We have the same surgery date!! I'm lucky in that they don't require a full 2 weeks of the pre-op diet for me. I start on Tuesday, but no meal for dinner. Protein Drinks for all 3 meals and then other stuff for Snacks. Best of luck to you!!!!

After having my surgery cancelled last month due to the abrupt closure of my hospital's bariatric practice, I have a new date at another hospital in the area and can hardly wait for the time to fly by. I'm scheduled for gastric bypass on February 21. Any other February peeps out there?

Day 5 out of 14 on the pre-op diet and I've settled into somewhat of a routine.

I do a Bariatric Fusion Cappuccino shake at Breakfast with a 20 oz Decaf tea that has 1/2 cup Fairlife milk and a scoop of collagen in it. Oikos triple zero yogurt for a mid-morning snack. Bariatric fusion chicken Soup shake for lunch. Jello for snack. 2 scoops Syntrax Nectar unflavored powder in one cup of Pacific Foods Tomato basil soup for dinner. Jello for dessert. Sometimes a Good Night Protein hot cocoa before bed if I'm hungry. I also take my chewable Celebrate One 45 Vitamin, 3 celebrate calcium chews, 2 scoops of Benefiber, Vitagut liquid probiotic, and a liquid Omega 3. Believe it or not, all of those supplements add 160 calories and 14g carb to my day! I also drink three 32oz waters with a sugar free flavor packet in each.

Total average daily macros: 850 calories, 105g protein, 11g fat, 50g carb

Weight loss so far: 7lbs

Day 9 on the liquid diet. My greatest disappointment so far has been a batch of "natural" Jello that didn't remotely taste like lime. My biggest treat has been tropical flavored Popsicle brand sugar free popsicles.

I literally yelled at a robot when I had to call FedEx after they mis-delivered an order from Celebrate that had three new flavors of Meal Replacement shakes in it. Do not mess with me when I'm hungry and sick of fake cappuccino flavored shakes that don't actually contain caffeine! The robot transferred me to a human and I was much nicer.

It sounds like you are doing pretty well! I'm on day 3 and not a happy camper today. I feel weak and a bit faint. For a snack, I had some allowed yogurt and PBfit in it. Best yogurt I've had in my life! lol. I'm so so lucky I only have to do this for 10 days.

Eight days after surgery, the only soreness I have now is directly on the incisions. The gas pains subsided by day 3 after surgery. I see my surgeon next week for the two week post op visit. Getting fluids in is no problem. I can get 70-80 oz down daily without issues. I can get 4 Protein Shakes in as well. Which is what my Dr. recommended for me. Though, I do feel full at times with broth and Protein shakes. I still feel like I need more, even though I take a Multivitamin and B-50 complex.

I'm ready for the next phase which is the puree' / soft food phase. I can start that in 5 days. I feel like I can do it now, but I'm not going to get ahead of myself and follow instructions. I really don't want any setbacks. If anyone has questions feel free to ask. Just for advice, the body wrap they put you in after surgery, wear it as much as you can. It really helps with soreness. Also, it helps if you start coughing.

I won't lie, this is hard. After the first couple of days, I was doing okay, but today was a challenge. I've been freezing all day and I keep thinking of favorite foods, just randomly popping into my head. Not even unhealthy things, just things I can't have. Which is basically everything right now. Next Wednesday can't come fast enough! I hit 229.4 on the scale this morning, which is the first time I've made it below 230 in over a year. Just have to stay focused on why I'm doing this!

I Just had surgery my on the 14th, I am feeling pretty good. The first night in the hospital I was very nauseous so they gave me some other drug to help with that so I could keep my Water done. I felt fine after that. I drank about 2oz of broth, and sipped on ice chips and water. Today I am home and really all i feel is the incisions. and on my right side, i believe that is where they pulled it out. I have 6 incisions. along my belly line. I have been doing SF popsicles and ice cips and water, I think I have had at least 6oz of water today and 2 oz broth and two SF popsicles. But I am feeling hungry for sure.

Congrats! I'm glad to hear you aren't in too much pain. I keep hearing about the gas pain and am not looking forward to that. I'm excited about the fact that you are able to come here and post something already!

I just ate the best thing. I felt like I was cheating, but I wasn't! If you are allowed to have Cream of Wheat, I would highly recommend making it with broth instead of Water. I don't like the stuff, but this was amazing! I don't eat meat, so I used vegetable broth. It was the best thing I've had in 4 days :)
