December Surgery Buddies!

  • Popular Post
I’ve got my date of December 20th! I’m so excited.
I stated this journey with my first consult on September 21st, 2023 it took one month to get things done and get a date. I have my preop class on November 8th to learn what all I can and can’t eat.

Anyone else have a December date?

  • So far it has been ok I guess. The surgery was “text book” according to the Dr. I had no pain after and I started back to the gym for treadmill and low weight machines on week 3. I followed the plan

I would LOVE some recipes please!!

Me too! What’s the name of the cookbook? I didn’t know such a book existed but that sounds wonderful. Is it mostly like broths and stuff?

These are all on the full liquid plan and can be had at all stages that is what the little color letters in the bottom left are for

F is full liquid

P is puree

S is soft

and G is general

@RonHall908 no I wasn’t tested for sleep apnea. I think it’s the blood thinner they have me on. I’m 6 days post op and I’ve quit taking both pain and nausea meds. I’m able to stay awake longer now though… just a little weak and dizzy. Going to get ahold of my doctor on Monday and ask if I can stop the blood thinners too if it persists. No issues meeting my mark for fluids or Protein at the moment.

I'm surprised they didn't give you a sleep study. The Bariatric clinic where I'm going requires it before moving on through the process for bariatric surgery. If you're not having any sleep issues now, you probably didn't need it. Glad to hear you're hitting the Fluid and Protein goals. Good luck on your journey.

Just got sleeved Monday December 11th. Surgeon said everything was perfect and my liver shrinking diet worked. Nurse said I was her best sleeve patient ever. Very little pain, no nausea, and no vomiting.

Sleeved 12/7 - I swear I don’t feel like I even had anything done besides zero hunger and 16 pounds lost. No pain meds. No issues with getting fluids or any protein source down. No sleeping issues except maybe a little insomnia but I’ve always had that so nothing new. ? one week into my new better self.

That’s amazing!! How long did you do the liver reducing for?

I have my op on Tuesday in the UK. We have to liver reduce for 3 weeks and so far I’m already nearly 20lb down. Will be going into surgery about 270lb, I’m just so ready for it now!!!
