Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery After Abdominoplasty

Hi Friends,
New here…I am wondering if anyone has had experience with having any laparoscopic surgeries after getting a tummy tuck.

I had an abdominoplasty in 2013 after having a child and losing weight and having a lot of extra skin. Now almost 10 years later I am looking into having a gastric sleeve done. Looking for anyone with experience. Was it harder for the surgeon due to scar tissue or things moved around?

Thanks in advance.

  • Yup. I did. I lost about 170 around 8/9 years ago and had about 17 lbs of skin removed. Surprise surprise: Got fat again, fatter actually. Had bypass this year, it was a non issue. Reco

Had bypass this year, it was a non issue. Recovery was easy peasy too.

I had a full hysterectomy and tummy tuck in 2008. Was sleeved on 9-1-22. I am 71 and I had no problems at all, quick easy recovery. I didn't even have to take pain meds. My tummy tuck scar is hip to hip so the sleeve incisions weren't close.
