HELP!! VETS and NEWBIES What are the Surgery Basic Supplies you will need when you get home from the Hospital Please?

Hello I am scheduled Wednesday the 31st for Sleeve. I am trying to get a basic list of what I will need when I get discharged.

So far I have My protein powder and a few shakes Whey protein soups ,vitamins, measuring cups,4oz containers food scale, compression socks, a gripper to help be pick things up if they fall. Tylenol dissolve packs. Should I purchase the Clear protein drinks?

  • Definitely you got a lot of what you’ll need. Make sure you take your vitamins when they tell you to do so and drink that water as they instruct. Lastly what really helped me big time was I made bone

  • I would get the clear protein waters and sugar free Popsicles and sugar free jello I liked the chicken soup and strained out the stuff out because you can taste the stuff in it. The clear liquid part

    Sugar free Popsicles were my go to. Also.gwr some Chicken/ Beef Broth. Once you can do full liquids Oikos Triple Zero Yogurt tastes amazing and is 15g of protein. Best of luck!

Here is my basic list of supplies post-op surgery that I have pulled together from different folks:

  • Thermometer
  • Oxygen pulse oximeter
  • Pain meds
  • Amit nausea meds and alcohol swabs/pads
  • Gasx
  • Puffer for acid reflux
  • Protein shake
  • Protein water - find measuring cups for 2oz
  • Miralax with water premixed
  • Patch aids - multivitamins with iron, biotin, vitamin D3, b12+
  • Throat lozenges
  • Gastric sleeve notebook logging amount of drinking
  • Nioxin shampoo or tail and mane shampoo with horse on front
  • Dissolvable Tylenol
