During my 20s and 30s, my weight was consistent until after the birth of our 2 children in my early 40s. My weight started creeping up, but once the covid pandemic hit, I was required to work from home and I was very sedentary. 5 months into the pandemic, I was let go from my job after 15 years of service…I was so shocked. Fortunately I found a new job within a month and again, working remotely which meant my days were so focused on my family and work and I was not on taking care of myself. I gained 30 pounds during the past 2 years! I got so angry with myself and decided enough is enough. I will not go into my 60s carrying this weight and that is why I am making changes. I’ve adopted a work out routine, started tracking what I am eating and making more high protein and vegetable meals for my family and me. This past July I met with an amazing Bariatric Surgeon and I decided to go with him. My Sleeve surgery is TBD for Jan 2023 which gives me time to get my mind and body ready.
