Walls of Text

Recommended Posts

I normally don't start threads in the R & R section. I do enjoy reading the

posts in this section.

My rant is when someone posts a very long post and doesn't put any breaks

anywhere. I spend so much time on Lap Band Talk, and often it's late at night.

It's very hard to read something when there aren't any breaks or indentations

for new paragraphs. My eyes are usually blurred by this time of night, but since I enjoy reading the posts so much, I struggle to see and read them, (even with reading glasses) to try to keep track of each line and read the entire post.

Does anyone else have a problem with this?

Why In The Heck Anyone Thinks This Is A Cool Way To Write Is Beyond Me! I Can't And Quite Often Won't Read Their Posts.

Yeah, I skip those posts too. Or the posts in bright happy, peppy, perky colors like Neon Yellow. Grrrrrrrrrrr I skip anything that is a chore to read.

I am so with you on this one! I am a speed reader, and another problem for me is all caps or all lower case. If I don't have good punctuation, the right cases, and paragraphs - well it is very difficult for me to read. Thanks for bringing this up!

LOL Its funny seeing someone else rant over this topic.

I moderate on another forum and have a "PARAGRAPHS, PEOPLE!!" thread I resurrect every so often.

Ditto. I've just gotten to the point where if a post is a pain to read, I skip it entirely.

I think it's a shame to have to skip a good post just because the poster can't figure out that they are making a post hard to read.

I hope some of them read this thread. I don't want to start a war or hurt any feelings, but people should know that their posts just get skipped over if they can't figure out how to make a paragraph.

I am glad others agree with me.

I agree with this. I tend to read posts late at night too, and if everything is in all caps, no caps, no breaks, no paragraphs, I just skip the post entirely. I just can't read it.

Ditto, ditto, ditto, sez cranky Green!

You know, I do believe I am going to protest from now on! Next time I see a stupid post that does:

This

thIs

THIS

or...

tHiS

I'm gonna say I refuse to respond until the person writes like an adult.

What About When They Do This? This Is Very Hard For Me To Read.

I finally figured out that a post shows up with caps at the beginning of every word if someone has the "Caps Lock" key pressed down when they type in their response.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
