I’ve been watching so many YouTube videos but I don’t know anymore if they are just making me or less anxious for the day to come and to have my surgery.

Right?! I try to follow only positive people who are real and helpful. The people who are scary and hate that they had the surgery, I just stat away from them. I want this to be such a positive change in my life, that I only want positive constructive people who offer encouragement and support 😊 I love watching Dr.A he is a surgeon and he hosts a fantastic series of Q&As. Great, reliable information!

Hey everyone! August surgery buddies

....

33 years old and as you can see all my weights stats. Surgery was schedule for the 3rd of August. I am a self paying patient going to Huntsville, Alabama. I wish this would have been an option sooner in my life. I rarely see anyone on here even close to my SW. Anyways, I originally was going to go to Mexico, however, even though it was about half the price I decided to stay in the states. It is very nice to meet you all and hopefully we can make connections and keep chatting. I work 3rd shift so I tend to reply and be on in the middle of the night.

Hi Nicole! You taught me something new! I had no idea you could see people’s start weights and info! Lol. Clearly I don’t click on enough links and stuff. 😊 Congratulations on finding a way to get your surgery! I’m guessing if you post about something specific about it you could probably find others closer to your start weight if you’re looking to ask questions or chat with people! But you’ve found a crew right here even if you don’t!! 🤗.

I’m going to look Dr. A up! I’ve watched a couple of videos by a guy named DR. Voung (I may be misspelling it) he’s a bit harsh, lol, but interesting to listen to. He certainly keeps it real. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like Kelsi Danielle❤️. I’ve watched almost all of her videos, as well as Karen Sandiego and Erin Branscom.

I’m nervous, but I wish it was sooner rather than later. I’m an educator and I was only able to get it scheduled 1 week before I have to go back to work! So I’ll only have 1 week off. Is anyone here worried about going back to work? Or are you guys blessed with staying home?

I, too, am an educator. Fortunately, my surgery is Aug. 4th and I'll have 3 weeks to recover before heading back to the classroom. I'm nervous for surgery and heading back, but I have faith we'll both be fine. Take it easy and don't overdo it.

Hooray. I'm scheduled for August 19th. I'm both excited and nervous at the same time.

I do the same, I like to see the horror stories though to make sure I am informed of what to watch for... Which I am sure is not helping me at all. But I am just that person.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I look those up too. I want to be informed on anyway I can prevent any mishaps!

I just got my testing results back from my preop testing and now I’m freaking out… some of my levels were “low” and I’m so nervous that my surgery will get canceled or rescheduled 😩

Iron, Vitamin D And AST were all in the “low” range…

I also had a chest X-ray which showed mild atelectasis… (from asthma as a child) so I’m freaking out about that too!!!!

Does anyone else have any experience with any of this!? My next follow up isn’t until the 21st.

I don't know about the other levels, but I found out my vit d is low and have started taking a supplement. Apparently is is pretty common to have low Vitamin d for those living in the northern hemisphere.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
