How many tacos one year out?

Ok can you buy a can of chipotles in Adobo sauce? If so, you can make amazing pulled beef or other meats quickly and cheaply.

Barbacoa?

Same deal. Chunks of chuck roast or whatever beef, onion, garlic, apple cider vinegar, beef broth, oregano, cumin and a can of the aforementioned chipotles in Adobo sauce. Slow cooker. Shred. Before you eat, chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime. You can freeze it into little 3oz cups and defrost to add to whatever. I freeze all my stuff (chilli con carne!) into ice cube trays. Then just pop out one or more cubes. Especially useful for a beef ragu for Pasta for the kid.

I love to make this for company! I’m 7 months out and could eat two but measure my meat and skip the taco. I find that I do have to work hard at this or I gain or plateau. When not entertaining, I save leftovers in OXO toddler tupperware in 4 ounce containers that are great for lunch.< /p>

I have been able to eat more than expected at every given stage since my sleeve so I have to measure my portions still. At one year out I have been eating around one serving of most things. I just made dinner though and those hard taco shells from old El Paso seem pretty big for the serving size to be TWO shells?? I ate one and don’t feel full (but I never do). I am just curious if other sleevers that are over a year out would have more than one?? I guess the amount of meat you get in one shell isn’t much (I didn’t weight it).

I'm back on the message boards because I'm having the same problem and always have... from the beginning I was always able to eat or drink more than I should have been able to, and could not relate to others who talked about not being able to eat a bite more. I keep waiting for this 'restriction' to hit and it just doesn't. Sometimes I'm convinced I could eat the same portions as I did 70 pounds ago, I just tell myself not to since I've come so far. It can be really frustrating though

I feel the same Newyorklady….I’ve never had restriction like people describe on here. Sometimes it worries me. Like I’m eating too much. I’m always hungry. At a year and half post op, I can tolerate literally any food, and if I’m not careful larger quantities. It’s been challenging!

I am like you I can eat way more than what I think I should/can eat. I can even drink a 600 ml bottle of coke in the space of 20 mins 🤔 not good I know as coke is one of the main culprits of me getting fat in the first place :( . I reckon I could eat 2 Tacos.. I have to tell myself often "that's enough now your not hungry". I rarely get the full /restriction feeling lots of people talk about. If I allow myself I reckon I could eat all day. I have had to stop bringing food to work on nightshifts otherwise I would just eat all night (another previous bad habit). sigh .........its hard sometimes.

Out of curiosity, do you have a long torso? I do and so far everyone who I have come across that can eat more has been taller or had a long torso. I am wondering if we have larger stomachs because they are taller. One person said someone on you tube said it’s the difference between a shorter and a longer banana. Not that it really makes a difference at this point. Just sorta surprised if it’s true and the drs didn’t figure this out. The. Again maybe they are aware but they can’t do it differently to compensate for whatever reason.

Funny you should say that I was just in the food before and after photos and noticed the people that are shorter seemed to eat a lot less and I had the same thoughts I wonder if they have a shorter stomach because I had seen this mentioned somewhere recently. I guess I do have a longish torso because for my height my legs are short lol for example if I was to drive someone's car that was the same height as me I find I have to pull the seat closer to reach the pedals and if they drive my car they always comment gee you must have short legs lol. I guess the surgery can only reduce the width of the stomach and not the length.

Idk but It’s certainly an interesting theory.

I usually order 2 street tacos (which are pretty small). They always come with 2 corn tortillas each, I guess to hold in the juices. I always eat one full taco but take off the 2nd tortilla, then just eat the insides of the second taco.

I'm at one year revision to RNY, lately I've been into eating one taco (~69g), mixing it with a serving of lettuce, and maybe a tablespoon of fat free sour cream, pouring hot sauce on it as dressing (zero cals). It's really good and filling too. I think I could probably eat 2 small tacos but I prefer using extra lettuce to fill up.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
