American Idol '08

Gosh I hope so. Most of the 80's song choices really sucked as far as I'm concerned.

Aisa'h performance wasn't bad, she just didn't bring anything original to the show. Seemed like we'd been there, seen that. She had a very cute personality and good voice though and I think in one of the years past, she wouldn't have been eliminated so early.

I figured that Michael from Australia was sweating and extremely nervous because he didn't particularly like the song he'd chosen. I hadn't really thought about him being truly sick. But that certainly makes sense.

Took my dogs to the groomer this morning and the receptionist has that horrible flu and brought it to her co-workers and me! If I get that junk, I'm going to sneeze on her. I guess I'm kidding. They say it's really a bad one.

Just needed to pop in here and say that I LOVE Michael Johns. (The sexy Aussie!!!) They always say he reminds them of Michael Hutchence and I agree. Loved Hutch too!

Well, I'm not extremely impressed this year. I thought the best part of this years performances is when Blake came on to do his new song. It reminded me of how good (Sanjaya aside) last year was... I'm not seeing the meat behind the claims that this is the most talented year ever.

Did ya'll hear Sanjaya is doing the bar mitzvah scene?

Oh, puke. I fast forwarded through Blake's performance. Never did like him. Sanjaya never deserved to be there in the first place. There were a few good ones last year, but not too many great ones, and I think this year there are several that are worthy of winning.

lol, dangit that doesn't make any sense... I like the young David and the rocker David. The stripper David I'm not fond of. So 2 out of 3 Davids I like.

I fast forwarded through Blakes performance as well. We liked him last year, although not as much as we liked Jordin, but his performance this year was aweful. He was off and it just didn't sound good, IMHO. I like Brooke and the guy with dreads (can't remember his name). I remember at the beginning of last season thinking they didn't have a lot of great talent, but by the end of the season I had changed my mind. They improve so much throughout the season. I think it is too early to tell who the real standouts will be.

I agree with you on Blake's performance. I loved him last year, although I thought Jordin was better. I'm not sure if it was nerves or what, but he sounded off to me too! It's almost like he couldn't quite find the right notes. I still really like him a lot, I just think he had a bad case of the nerves or he just had an off night.

Right now, I'm liking Jason Castro, David Cook, Brooke White, and Amanda (can't remember her last name). There is a lot of hype about Carly, but I'm just not feeling her. She sounds too much like Celine Dion to me. Celine Dion is great, but there only needs to be one of her, lol.

I really was sad when Melinda Dolittle was sent home last year. This year I've decided that if David Archileta doesn't get to at least be one of the top two, I'm done with American Idol. Simon said he was the one to beat, but they seem to change their minds about that all the time.

I never liked Blake, either. I thought I was the only one.

I think this year is the best yet as far as talent, although I'm not super excited about any of the girls.

I thought tonight was really good. Serenity, If David Archaletta continues to sing like he did tonight he will definately not be in the final 2. He had a really bad night. My favs were Brooke and Chickezee!! They were awesome, and what a surprise from Chickezee. Jason Castro was really good too.

I thought they did really good tonight too! My favorite is Brooke, I love the sincerity of her voice. I said in my earlier post that I didn't care for Carly, but I thought she did good tonight. For the guys, David Cook is the one to beat IMHO and Brooke is the girl to beat. I really do think that this year has the best talent (as a whole) than the previous years.

I missed the first 3 performances, so my comments are based on the ones I did hear.

You missed Chickezee! OMG he ROCKED THE HOUSE as Randy would say. What an awesome performance from him! I was wondering when they'd finally send him home, and I've changed my mind about him now. He totally deserves to be here. And if little David doesn't pull it together next week, he'll be going home, I'm afraid. He said that he was intimidated by the Lennon/McCartney songbook, and that floored me. He already did Lennon's BIGGEST song EVER! What's to be intimidated by??? I didn't get that at all.

Besides that, though, I thought everyone did a great job last night except maybe the country girl. That just wasn't a good fit, it jangled my nerves.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
