Why are you guys getting postponed? Covid?

Yep. The hospitals in Washington State are overwhelmed. The governor has mandated a four-week hold on any elective surgeries.

Yep, join the club! We'll get there soon enough. It sucks though, I know. Mine is now March 8th. What is your new date?

Don't have one yet. Will probably find out next week.

It took them 3 weeks to give me a new date - so hang in there!

Cleaning up the house, trying to get things in order before I head to the city 2.5 hours away where I will have the surgery Tuesday morning. Excited, scared, all around nervous, ready to have it done.

I will be staying in the city until Saturday to rest up before someone drives me home.

Any tips on what I should pack?

Thanks

Kristen

Okay. Y’all I just started my liquid diet today. Please tell me this gets better?

Yes. By day 6 you aren't hungry anymore. I have even been making meals for my 6 year old. The food looks good, and I want it, but I am not hungry. So hang in there!

Hi Kristen, GOOD LUCK! Very exciting. I didn't pack anything pre-surgery except for a very loose-fitting pair of sweats. I t-shirt. A helpful tip maybe make sure before you leave for when you get home you had a TV tray or something near your bed/chair where you will be spending much time. Put necessities on it like a tv remote, phone, book, Tissue, a container to spit up in if you need or feel nauseous, I also have a large walking stick to use as leverage to get up. (maybe tie something on it like a bathrobe rope on it for the times you can't reach it. Using any of your stomach/core muscles will take time. Good Luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
