What non chewable vitamins are you taking daily?

Recommended Posts

I just switched to the ProCare capsules and LOVE them. They don't make me nauseous or give me weird burps, and they are MUCH easier to get down than the chewables. I am not currently taking a pre or probiotic, but I know ProCare does have a multi that includes Probiotics, if that's something you're interested in.

ETA: I also use the ProCare calcium chews.

I agree with Sarah, I cannot stomach the chewable vitamins. I have tried several brands and the after taste drives me absolutely insane. I changed to a Bariatric Advantage Solo with Iron. It is a capsule and goes down quite easily. It tasted horrible as any Vitamin but it is down the hatch in seconds instead of lingering in my mouth for a while.

BariatricPal's One-a-Day either with or without Iron is a quick dissolving capsule and costs only $99 for a whole year. I add D3. B12, calcium citrate, and Biotin supplements.

I take BariatricPal Multivitamin ONE w/ Iron one capsule two times a day. I open the capsule, empty into mouth and just swallow with some liquid.

I take these: "Bariatric Choice Once Daily Bariatric Multivitamin Capsule with 45 mg of Iron."

I get them from Amazon.

I think the chewable vs non-chewable issue is overblown. I started with all chewables 20 years ago. I went even further and used liquids. I wound up with a Calcium deficiency because I trusted supplements I ordered by mail that were not USP or USDA approved. Now I get my Vitamins and supplements from the pharmacy so I know that the pills I am swallowing actually contain what they say they contain. According to my blood tests I'm absorbing the pills just fine.

I take the BariatricPal multivitamin with 18mg of Iron, a D3 supplement, a Calcium supplement, and a Biotin supplement. And I also bought a year's worth of the multivitamin. They're great. I really like them.

This is a little older so not sure the OP needs the info but I’m sure someone does. I take the Pro Care health multi with 45 mg of Iron. It is a true one a day capsule that is reasonably priced for a bariatric Vitamin.

I also take ProCare. I was taking the one with 45 of Iron but now they make a DS specific one with 60mg iron. I just switched to that. I'm 2 years post op now and I couldn't stand the chewables. Procare is the best!
Their shipping is really quick too, although that could be because the company is here in STL where I live.

I really was not a big fan of the chewable vitamins I tried either (did a couple of different brands) and found I'd much rather just be able to pop a few pills down and be done and over with it.

Currently what I am taking:

Morning - Vitamin C, Iron, Copper, Biotin

Lunchtime - Vitamin A, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Iron, Zinc, and a multivitamin (Sam's club brand, their version of One-A-Day)

Dinnertime/evening - Vitamin B9/Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Multivitamin

Before Bed: Vitamin K/K2, calcium citrate, Magnesium Citrate, Glutamine

I am only about 6 months out but all of my labs have came back very good for the most part, with the exception of being a bit low on iron. I only recently started iron supplementation and was also prescribed additional Vit C to aid absorption, that's why I'm taking Vit C multiple times a day. IIRC it's 500mg each time.

Kind of seems like a lot when you look at it that way, but like I said, can just pop them down and be done, which I find more convenient. And as an added benefit it's worked out to be cheaper for me (at least on a per-month basis) than chewables, too.

I don't know when I reached Onederland but just weighed myself @198. 😁

Constantly amazing myself. This is probably a normal experience for all of us on a WL journey.
This morning I was at 174 pounds (78.9 kilos). I can perceive that my brain hasn't really caught up to this yet, as I still feel obese, even though I am close to being considered a normal weight, not even overweight. The smaller clothes, the higher fitness level, the great blood work results, the energy- these all tell me a totally different story!
I have NEVER EVER been, never, not once in my life, nada, zip, zilch, zero times, been "thin." I think this explains some of the disconnect between the reality of my body and the stuckness of my brain. I do have confidence that my mind will catch up soon ❤️
Not really having the experience of true hunger yet, but I can perceive the peristalsis of my digestive tract. And I am getting very good at spotting head hunger, and simply noticing it, like a Buddhist.

I ordered the Barbecue Protein Crisps here from BariatricPal, and find them quite tasty. The Ranch flavour, not so much. They are very filing and have a satisfying crunch.
I continue to shrink, and am amazed at the changes all over my body. Visually, it is striking to me. In the mirror, I look thin to my eyes, but I don't feel thin, although I can see more bones and veins and tendons and floppy skin. Cardio-wise, It takes a lot more effort to get my heart rate up and I'm now monitoring which heart zone I can get into and for how long. My resting heart rate is the lowest it's ever been.
If I think about it, and I left myself feel it for a time, I weep (like, boohoo cry) with joy. I am so grateful to myself, and proud of myself for having the courage to have taken the leap to better health.
