  4. Thanks I just wanted to see how common it was.
  5. Hi So I was prescribed two medications post surgery to ward of side effects. First Famotidine for the first two weeks to ward off GERD. I may be placed back on if I ended up with an issue with GERD. Second medication Ursodiol I start today as I am now on soft foods. The medication is to ensure I do not get gallstones. Dis anyone Have to take prophylactic Ursodiol or if anyone had issues with gallstones?
  6. Chicken bone broth with spices added. I actually drank it as my main fluid as it has 9 protein a serving. When I wanted it as a meal I would add GenePro protein in. Right now my nutritionist wants me to drink less bone broth and more water.

  9. Agree on not stocking up. I bought 6 cases of different Premier Protein shakes and now I do not like them. Blech! Spent last week returning them and ones I can’t I am giving to a friend going on the 2 week pre op liver shrink diet. I can handle sweet it’s just some artificial sweeteners I do not like. I still am fine with Stevia so I can have a Lilly’s peanut butter cup. But truthfully I now really love spices in everything. I have a new weird love for cumin. I enjoy it so much I can eat it by the teaspoon alone.
  10. That does sound good. A little keto bread and it would make a nice sausage gravy and biscuit with eggs. Yum
  11. I just hit soft foods. I can’t wait to try them now with my new taste buds. When can you have dry crunchy food again? When after surgery were you able to tolerate chips ?
  12. I love naruto sushi. Its sushi that instead of rice and seaweed wrap ,the sushi is wrapped in cucumber. Also there is Tuna dumpling which is some salmon and or white fish minced with wasabi Mayo and then wrapped in Tuna. Love if done without them over adding pinko to extend the minced fish. Oh that reminds me of all the poke places opening everywhere. It does have salad as a base with fish.
  13. What about stopping at a Whole Foods Hot bar and salad bar? There is usually atleast one hot entree that is healthy.

  16. Thanks for the Reps to the rhythms. Right now my favorite exercise is just walking hills on treadmill for 2 miles or rowing 2 miles. Since surgery I have only walked pretty flat on treadmill. Waiting for clearance from doc which is 2 or 6 weeks I assume

  22. Pre-op I definitely had an issue with differentiation between head hunger and true hunger. The first day my body most certainly was not hungry; every sip felt like a stabbing pain. Head hunger hit the first day and that’s helped tremendously to keep identifying the differences. I feel my surgery has helped me truly feel the difference between the two. Now when I want something I stop and ask myself does my stomach want this ; if it says nothing I know it’s head hunger. Emotional eating I have seen is almost unconscious. I get upset and if I have something in front of me I just reach out and put in my mouth. Thank god I have to slowly swallow now to avoid pain as it’s given me the time to identify what I am doing and spit it out. soo saying all that I believe I can safely assume her craving for an omelet is head hunger. If her stomach. Hurts that much, it probably doesn’t want an omelet. glad she is feeling better.

  24. Thank you for this post. Today, my birthday, I was having a big pity party. Your post helped relieve it a bit. I feel great but not seeing the rapid weight loss kinda makes me sad. I have been eating less than 500 calories a day & exercising. It good thing is I’m not hungry all the time. Plus read your post and see in time it will happen.
  25. Ahhhh, ketosis I didn’t think of that. I like the toilets idea. Thank you Arabesque for your help.

  28. Good Gastric sleeve works, bad about sleeve and HH is the first couple of days are painful. The sleeve made it so I felt everything I swallowed, some stuff hit stomach like a knife. HH caused deep breaths to hurt and the hiccups were super painful, only good thing about HH is the hiccup was usually one isolated and the pain went away . The sleeve pain improvement has increased every day. I just had sleeve 10/21. By day 4 with lots of walking those other days I started to feel human. Now Day 8 I feel great, a little stinky but feel great. You are going to be so happy with your surgery I know I am.
  29. Wow you are total inspiration. You look great! Congratulations on your anniversary!
  30. I had been warned that post weight loss surgery that some people have an increase in BO. I just left the gym and I reek of BO. I am not up to my old treadmill routine of hills and spead but I am working hard enough to raise my pulse. Thing is I barley sweated even though in the past this long of a work out with a pulse level I achieved I would of been soaked. So is the increased BO because My body is not letting go of its precious fluids and the sweat is concentrated stinky stuff?Does this stage last long? What has been your experience?
