Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Recommended Posts

2 days post op and feeling so blah! Nothing sounds good or interesting to do, see or eat. No trouble with drinking my shakes and Water so that’s a blessing I guess. Not sure why I’m feeling so down.

I had gastric bypass on October 5 2021

I go for my 4 week check up on Monday and I am not really nervous but still sore on the left side.

It is def an adjustment with eating or should I say not eating. I have not been hungry at all until today. I had watermelon today not much but it seems so far to be tolerating just fine. I will see in the next few hours has anyone had this

Hi I had the gastric sleeve surgery October 21, I just got home. And my belly hurts. I do not want to take the oxy, I am already on Famotidine. I was searching the internet to see if taking Mylanta was ok.

Wow Mammysm, you’ve been through it all! You are the first person I know that is having SADI! I have a friend who is almost ready for the DS.

I haven’t been great with my liquid diet but I’m hoping my lower BMI will help it. My old house (which we care for meticulously) decided to act up this week (blown outlet and for extra fun a HEATING OIL LEAK INSIDE THE HOUSE!)

This is my last try. My RNY is scheduled and I’m 62 and so tired of not being able to move without being in pain.

you at least know how to do this so remember you can! Third time’s the charm, remember? 💗

Its very hard to stick to the liquid diet...I haven't got too many days left. Had Covid test today...got to be at hospital at 6am on Monday....I'm so not a morning person but for this I will get up...lol.

I wish you the very best with this journey and it all works out with you ...just remember "Nothing Tastes As Good As Thin Feels" they used to say this at Weight Watchers...and "You Bite-You Write" JS

Write anytime....I will reply as soon. As I find it sometimes it takes me awhile to find stuff.

It gets easier post op… but harder in other ways. Soon you’ll be grateful to be able to get liquid down real slow!

My surgery is happening at 2:45 on Monday — I wish mine was that early! They even told me not to bring a suitcase I’ll be leaving in 24 hours! I wish you only the best, too and a speedy recovery! Yes that’s the best WW quote. I lost 50 lbs with them and that’s it. Now I’ll lose the rest so I can walk and do things again. I’m only 62 not 100! Message me next week!

Hi all! I am so thrilled to see so many replies to this topic! I got so busy pre-op that I haven't been able to post until now. I hope everyone who has already had their surgery is doing great and wish everyone good luck who will have the surgery soon!

I had my surgery on October 11th. Everything went very well. I stayed in the hospital overnight. My only complaint was on the first night when I was experiencing pain where the incisions were (now the incisions are just unbearably itchy because they are healing). I wasn't hungry AT ALL for the first week or so and had a hard time getting all my Water and Protein in. This last week, however, I have been a bit hungrier and have been making some protein smoothies which have been really good for me I think.

I just posted this in a separate thread, but I am terribly worried because I am feeling no constriction at all during this liquid phase. I start soft/pureed foods on 10/25 so I'm hoping I'll feel the constriction. Also experiencing what I think is head hunger rather than real hunger.

Again, wish everyone the best!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
