I have lost 10 lbs since surgery two weeks post op today. I feel like it should be more, but I have not really started on walking yet and plan on that today. Should I be dropping more?
I was on full liquid for one week and started purée the 2 week. I’ll be on purée for one more week then will be on soft foods.
TIA

Sounds about right to me. I am averaging about 4lbs a week(3.7) at the 8 week mark. That includes 3 stalls 5-10 days each. Good luck!

We have no context as to why you think it should be more? How tall are you? How much did you lose in pre-op stage? What was surgery day weight?

I think we sometimes set unrealistic expectations of ourselves and regardless of what info I asked for above, I think 10lb two weeks post op is excellent, be kind to yourself.

I had lost ten pounds exactly at my two week post op appointment and the doctor was happy.

I don't remember what i lost the first two weeks, but the first MONTH I lost 16 lbs. That's pretty normal. It seems most of us lose somewhere in the 15-25 lb range the first month. Of course, you'll always find some who lose more or less than that, but that seems to be about the norm. At 10 lbs down during the first two weeks, you'll likely end up in that range at the end of four weeks, too - so, your loss is absolutely normal.

I’m 6’1”, weight was 270 on April 5th surgery date. I’m on a 3 day stall now, weighing 257. Consuming around 700 to 800 per day.

I think it depends on your size as well. For me for example, my surgery weight was 396lbs. In my first week post op, I lost 18lbs which my surgeon said it was normal especially for my size and now 2 weeks post op I have lost a total of 35lbs. But it does depend on the person and I think that you are doing fantastic :)

I had the 3 week stall in week 2. Stayed the same for an entire week. Now in Week 5 I'm moving down pretty well. It's not a race. Just do what they told you and slow and steady wins out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
