Omg! I had mine on the same day! How are you coping?

Sent from my SM-G988B using BariatricPal mobile app

I had mine 12/2 as well. The pain is gone, a little discomfort when standing after sitting for a while. I can sleep on both sides and experiments with pudding and cream of mushroom strained Soup yesterday. Both went down, although the stomach was making the moaning and groaning sounds, but no side affects. What are you guys doing for meals?

Noob here...first post. I am 4 days Post-Op Bariatric Sleeve (11/30/2020) and suffering through the SIP, SIP, SIP torture. I am truly amazed at the lack of residual pain. I started this journey almost 2 years ago at a massive 364 and almost 47 BMI, due to covid my original op date was pushed and this past Monday I weighed 332 (almost 43 BMI) when I laid on table. Agree that the timing really interferes with the Holiday meals, but I cannot wait to see the results.

You had surgery 3 days before me, I'm curious if you're experiencing the same thigs I am? I'm able to pass gas controllably which is nice to ease the gas pain. My incisions aren't an issue, but when I stand after sitting in same spot, I'm a little sore. I wear the belly brace to bed, seems to have helped with my side sleeping. I'm -18 lbs in almost 2 weeks, but this morning I'm the same weight as yesterday. I have tried adding sugar free pudding this week and strained cream of mushroom Soup (stomach was surprised to feel that and gurgled a little). Other than that, it's Water, Protein Shakes and Jello for me. Looking forward to soft foods as early as next week.

I had mine on 12/7 so I'm still in Phase I of post-op diet. I have only had Water, Protein Shakes, and Jello too. I am experiencing the same pain as you. Its really the only discomfort I have. Prior to op I had started to be able to discern head from stomach hunger, but that has gotten harder since op. I generally feel hungry most of the time and I am thinking it is in my head due to the new stomach, but it doesnt feel quite the same that head hunger did pre-op.

The most pronounced change Ive experienced is total lack of energy, which started pre-op. I used to have some energy but would easily become sleepy. It has reversed. Now I go all day with my energy level so low I can feel it in my muscles and bones, but am alert at 11pm or midnight and am no longer dozing off or napping with the kids.

Anyone else with these experiences?

I have been able to pass gas controllably since surgery, at this point the only pain I am experiencing is direct pressure on incisions. I was able to sleep on my side 3 nights ago. I have not used a belly brace. AS of this morning I have lost 13 lbs since surgery. I have stuck to my surgeon's diet to the letter. Maintaining 60oz of clear fluids, 60 grams of Protein and during week 2 (pureed) I have also started focusing on trying to get 60 grams of carbs. I get to start soft foods tommorow AM and I am soooo looking forward to that scrambled egg.

I know what you mean! Never have I ever lost this much in a week. And what’s crazy is I’m not even hungry!

HI! My surgery was cancelled today due to COVID. I'm so disappointed and heart-broken. Wishing you a safe surgery and healing vibes.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that! I am sending big hugs! Think about how much you have already accomplished and keep that getting you through til you get your next date. Who knows, maybe if you keep up this lifestyle you might not even need the surgery. ~Positive Vibes~

Similar to the gents above... mine was on 12/3. Had the DS w/SIPS. I just started "re-sleeping" on my side and it's glorious. I can feel a few little twists and twinges and I'm not sure if it's hurting anything. I feel my biggest challenge is the "30 minute rule" with the no drinking 30 mins before and after food. Since i'm really not consuming any real "food" yet (still on drinkable yogurt and cream soup) how important is that? I'm walking 3 to 5 miles a day so that's good. Bit of a "traffic jam" if i'm going to be honest so maybe i'm not taking on enough Water. My first follow up with surgeon is tomorrow so we'll see how it goes.

Surgery 12/3. Still on full liquids. I had a hiatal hernia repair as well and the surgeon said I had to wait to advance until I saw him on 12/16.

I’m with you. So tired all day. Up easily until 10pm.

That is so upsetting. Hang in there. It will happen. Stay focused.

I was concerned about that as well but the surgeons made a case for us as we were already in our pre-op diet and they labeled it as "necessary" or something to that effect. If you were already well into your pre-op diet, I'd be a bit more torqued. But... playing devils advocate... who really wants to be in ANY hospital at a time like this? Sorry to hear but it will be worth the wait and hopefully safer when you do go in.

Bit of a "traffic jam"

Hate to hear about your cancellation...My first op date was 3/28/2020 but due to covid I was pushed to 11/30. Keep the faith and keep working the pre diet. I wish I had done something like two decent, but correctly portioned meals and 2 Premier Protein drinks a day from March to November..May have not needed the surgery..LOL

As far as the "traffic jam", my surgical team recommends 1 dose of Miralax in 12-16 oz of Water, Vitamin water per day to keep traffic moving

I’m so sorry!!! I know that must be frustrating! It won’t be long hopefully and you will be back on the schedule. Take the time to mourn, but know to keep pushing on!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
