Hi all, I was sleeved on the 14th of July. This is my second day at home. I hate to drink because my stomach hurts every time something goes down. Is this normal and if so when does it stop? What can I do about it too. I'm on Clear Liquids right now.

Hi.. make sure you are sipping your drinks and drinking them slowly. Are you drink them ice cold or room temperature?

I am sipping still out of a 1 oz cup. I have tried room temperature and warm broth. Everything is uncomfortable.

You have to retrain yourself to drink very slowly. It is hard at first but you'll get the hang of it!!! It gets easier!!😉

You probably have some swelling at the top of your stomach from the surgery. I had terrible problems swallowing & was constantly bringing up saliva the first three days. Take things slowly. It doesn’t matter if it takes hours to drink your fluids at the beginning. Of course, if the pain worsens, contact your surgeon straight away.

Good luck.

Day 1 here and in the same boat. I have not experienced nausea, which I feel good about. However, like you, everytime I sip, I get small pain in the stomach. I am sipping every what seams like 10 minutes things like broth, Powerade Zero, and flavored water. We can do this!

I had mine on July 13, and I also have some pain, even with tiny sips. That and lots of gas bubbles every time. I think it’s normal, but am hoping it doesn’t last too long.

Hey! I had my sleeve done July 15th and although I am not experiencing stomach pain, my back does hurt when I drink too fast(not sure why).

Second day was a little better. Walking every hour around the house. The only thing I am not comfortable with is bending over to pick up things. My spirometer has gotten better, too. I did have pain, but I was used to it, it's right after I drink, I get a rising pain, kind of a burp. But I will say, I have not experienced the gas pains.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
