Thank you so much your great! I am going to do shakes today and I have work and I figure I’ll do some laps around the desks today and I’ll be there alone so at least I won’t look crazy and then another walk with my daughter in the evening. I just don’t think I will loose much overnight. But my insurance already approved so I’m hoping he will be fine. He’s not a mean dr so it is what it is right.

My new date is July 17th. I am having a revision from the sleeve to the RNY due to Barrett’s Esophagus. May we all do exceptionally well!!!!

Did you have Barrett’s before you had the sleeve done? Because I have a very small area with it but they are doing the sleeve on me anyway? I want the sleeve but have wondered if it’s should have been bypass.

I used to live right over the bridge from your town OMG who is your doctor? We may have the same one. Dr Borao is mine.

IWantTheDream.. I did not have Barrett’s before the sleeve. I had GERD and it went away for about the first 3 years after surgery. Then it slowly came back and turned into Barrett’s even while on Omeprazole everyday the whole time. It got so bad that I was sleeping in a recliner. My Dr added Carafate before bed at night and that helps. But my goal is to stop the Barrett’s from progressing into cancer now. If you have reflux or GERD do your research and talk to your doctor. And yes, we live very close to one another! I switched doctors for this surgery. I used to use one in East Brunswick and now I am using Dr Sadek , he is the chief of Bariatric surgery at Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick. I know Dr Borao is spoken highly of so you’re in good hands! 🤗

I've been trying to get to 2 shakes a day for a few weeks and just a dinner meal. its a task for sure. but i have to do it for real in a couple weeks anyway. Luckily, I don't have to do all liquids on mine.

I am really glad I started my 3-month medically-supervised weight loss before the lockdown. Normally, I almost certainly would have gained weight working from home (right down the hall from my kitchen), but instead, I have lost over 40 pounds in the last 3 months. I have been doing intermittent fasting (16 hours/day) and I just don't even go in the kitchen until lunch.

This is such good news!! my surgeons nurse told me since i'm already approved that weight gain isn't an issue for them. I was stressing over this 6 lb gain since corona-tine. When do you start your pre-op liver shrink diet? I have my pre-op appt on 6/30. It is very nerve wrecking for me at this point. They also did a switcharoo of surgeons on me too. not that I mind but I haven't met this surgeon yet..SO lots of nerves here too

Hi everyone! i'm brand new to this site. As of today, my vsg is officially booked for july 20!!!!! so nervous and excited. i have chosen not to tell many people aside from immediate family and one close friend. i'm not ashamed its just a private matter and i think its a big enough surgery and emotional/physcial roller coaster I don't want nay negative comments etc.

Well, I was slated to have surgery today but it got postponed because of my cardiologist wanting me to see a congenital cardiologist about my heart. I got cleared, but my new date is July 8th.

I was on the liquid diet for 5 days when they postponed it (ughhhhhhh) but I know that I can do it and stocked up on broths and Popsicle. I found that Jello got kinda gross, kind quickly. If anyone is looking for different broths, Target has some Swanson's sipping broths that have different flavors (Ginger & Tumeric chicken and Lemon & Rosemary chicken) which have 9 grams of protein.. They're completely clear and delicious.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
