What is the best 1 a day multi vitamin to take after vsg surgery i cant keep up with all the stuff to take so im running really behind on my vitamins looking for a great 1 a day any help is appreciated

I had gastric bypass, but I'm assuming the vitamin needs are the same.

I tried several different ones until I found that the soft chews are the only ones that don't taste disgusting. I now use these from the Bariatric Pal store:

I like the strawberry/watermelon flavor but haven't tried any of the others. You need to take two of them per day, but they can be at the same time. I chew two of them every morning just after I get up. I'm 14 months out from surgery, and all of my blood tests have been great in terms of vitamin levels.

not sure if you mean "best" as far as meeting your nutritional needs or "best" as far as taste, but if the former, as long as the multivitamin meets the American Society of Bariatric & Metabolic Surgeons' requirements, it should be fine (if yours is an over-the-counter vitamin, you may have to take two to meet the requirements). if you mean "best" as far as taste, you'll probably get a lot of different answers here since taste is pretty subjective. I took Centrum Silver chewables (or the generic equivalent) the first few months and I thought they were fine. Once I was about six months out, I changed over to a regular tablet (i.e., not chewable)

I don't think you can get the dosages you need after WLS in one pill. Read the dosages recommended from link posted. A number of these are supposed to be taken several times a day as body cannot use all at once. For example, Calcium and D3 should be split into 3 to 4 doses a day.

Vit D3 in particular requires 3000 IU per day. None of the "1 pill a day" have that amount. Vit D deficiency is prevalent in all populations (75% of people) and has been suggested Vit D deficiency has a lot to do with weak immune systems to fight coronavirus. Severity and mortality associated with D3 deficiency.

Vitamin D is not in food. You must either take supplement or get sunlight on skin without sunscreen everyday. In winter, not possible.

Centrum Adult chewable only has 400 IU of Vit D3.

Every day I take 2 chewable Flintstones vitamins. (not the gummies) 1 biotin, 1 probiotic, 1 b12, and 1 calcium with d3. I take iron sometimes too. It's working great for me.
