losingjusme goes for plastics

yup, i am about 70-80 pounds from my first huge goal (180/190 lbs) and i have a PS consult tomorrow. i actually completely forgot about it with everything going on until they called to confirm.

i have the appointment for arms and LBL. hopefully he will say "i can do the arms now" and give me a goal to hit for a LBL. dont think i will go with this guy though - no insurance whatsoever... how discouraging... i dont even know if my insurance will help me out, but it would be nice to be able to go to someone who accepts insurance. :)

here we go .. :)

LJM: Your doing great losing weight through the holidays and all. I'm proud of you! I've lost 3 pounds and counting. You made me realize that I should do a count down. I think I'll add it to my LB signature. Are you getting nervous yet? I sure am, but also excited! It's going to be fun to be so close to each other's surgery dates, we'll be able to compare notes. Keep up the good work and I'll report back, too!

Thinking of you-ljm.....

Well, any recent thoughts on the subject you would like to share?

What is the official go date? How did you fare over the New Year/Holidays?

Hi LJM,

I am so pleased for you that you have found a surgeon that you are happy with! We will be in round the same time and I think that we are both having similar ops, I am looking forwards to sharing notes :)

Do you feel a sense of relief now? People keep asking me if I am scared and all I can feel at the moment is excited!!

I am getting back into the zone now and have started exercising again, you have done so well not losing focus over Christmas, I still have issues with the whole head/tummy hunger thing!

Not long now for either of us!

hi guys, im back from a short break... i needed to take some time away.

things here are ok ... making some stupid eating choices that i need to fix. TOM hit and i gained a ton... i will hop on the scale in a week or so to make sure i get any added weight off of me.

i've been running and absolutely love it!! :)

i think i found a good balance with diet and exercise - now i just need to follow it ... :)

54 days til plastics!!! :whoo:

Can I borrow some of your determination just for a bit pleeease :)

I hate the head hunger thing, it has always been my biggest problem, its like an evil gremlin on my shoulder. I have to break the food=pleasure thing.

LJM: I checked out the website for your doc that you posted on Nina's thread. He looks really good and very ethical. I liked what he said about pictures. He had a whole thing on there about not using drains either. It would appear that you and Nina will be going drainless? I'm going to ask my doctor about that technique. I also have upped my exercise, but I'm still not losing weight. I saw my band doctor on Friday to talk about a low profile port and she actually told me to stop worrying about losing anymore weight. That I should be good to go after my TT. I was floored. I said, but what about my BMI, she said, I was obviously in good shape and looked thin and to not worry about it. Amazing. I am still going to try and get off as much as I can, but I do think it will be easier when the belly is gone. I think it will change my metabolism. I hope that's not wishful thinking on my part. Anyway, I'm excited for you. I'll think of you when I can't sleep!

nina - if i had any determination, i'd send you some but after just downing about 500 gingersnap Cookies, mine is lost... and i was sooooo good this morning, a Protein shake for b-fast and a salad for lunch ... grrrrr

karey - how awesome for you! i am so proud of you. i bet getting gutwacked will help with the metabolism! are you right before or right after me?

LJM - Do you find that evenings are the worst time for snakaroos? I can be a perfect angel all day but then at night......

Karey - I know that I should have lost more before the surgery, I am hoping that a week on morphine will kill the appetite, and added onto the 7 litres of fat and the skin maybe I will come out of it nearer to goal! I know it is cheating but what can I say...... I am weak :)

So it is me on the 11th of Feb, LJM on the 29th and Karey on the 5th of March!! Woooo Hoooo!!!

OUSooner is also on the 11th of February, his thread is here: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f12/next-step-finding-real-me-45384/

i am so excited for all of us! this truly is an incredible step.

Nina & Neal, cant wait to hear how things go...

im trying to talk my DH into letting me have my iPhone in the recovery room with me so i can at least post to my blog. :)

I am going to try to take my lap top with me so that at least when I get to the hotel room I can post. I will be out there for nearly 3 weeks, Dr Pascal likes you to saty for at least 2 weeks and I want to be sure that I am well on the way to recovery before I leave. It would be a bit tricky to get home and then have a complication.

i forgot to mention ... no port revision. my plastics guy doesnt want to touch my lap band at all, which i am relieved that he is comfortable telling me he isnt comfortable touching the band, but sad that i wont get the LP port ... **sigh**
