I know people think you are trying to psych yourself out but my surgery is 2/13 and I have a nervous breakdown every night over potential complications. I have 2 little kids (5 and 3) and the idea of leaving them is unimaginable and stressful. Totally an understandable concern. I am not worried as much about complications that can be fix but instead of those that can’t that lead to death and those people aren’t here to report their outcome.

people have died from having their tonsils out. But seriously, how many people are we talking about? Same with gastric bypass. It's one of the safest surgeries out there. I know it's human nature to worry about surgeries, but you are going to be just fine.

Edited to add that you are more likely to die from obesity-related issues than you are from gastric bypass surgery.
