I'm too darn emotional as of this week, because its a lot closer than I thought. I'm going to pack my bag after I come from the appointment next Friday, I already have too much going on. I'm cleaning up my domain this weekend and getting ready for recovery. I guess these emotions are releasing with the fat, I have no clue....PMS magnified times a million.

GORL! I got an IUD this past summer so no cycles. No cycles, not PMS. It’s. Amazing.

Taking a pregnancy test 1/24 though (JIC) but I couldn’t get pregnant 10 years ago when I was 50lbs lighter than I am now so I seriously doubt it.

Got mines this past Summer as well, still having cycles just different. My moods are pseudo-PMS, I feel like the crazy lady. We are going to be fine, I think I'm just going through the vulnerability of everything. I know this is going to be great. Now, I'm crying 😭😭😭, I can't help it. I'm so darn excited and nervous!!!! It really does feel good to have people to talk to who understand what you are experiencing.

I’m 3 days post op and I will not lie and say it is easy. I’m home after a two night stay and working slowly to get my Fluid intake Back up where it needs to be. I have rather bad nausea and the zofran makes me sleepy. I thought I’d have more energy, but instead have been dozing and then walking a bit after getting up for the restroom. Hoping I’ll feel a bit stronger each day. Cheers to recovery mode!

This is flat out amazing. I’m a bit jealous. I didn’t think of half of these items for variety’s sake, but adding some to my shopping list pronto. 👍

Thank you, I'm a Virgo...we're over achievers, lol. Seriously, I started awhile ago and I like to make sure I'm okay. I still feel like I'm missing something, I just don't know what that could possibly be....

On day two of 1 week liquid diet. It hasn't been too bad so far as it allows for something every hour or so.

8am - Protein Shake

9:30am - sugar free Jello, 1 cup of fruit and 8 oz Water

10:30 am Protein shake

12pm - 16 oz water

1pm - Protein Shake

2:30pm - 1 cup low sodium broth, 1 cup of fruit and 8 oz water

3:30pm - Protein Shake

5pm - 16 oz water

6:30pm - Protein shake

8pm - 1 cup low sodium broth and 1 cup of fruit

Spreading things out over the day helps. Prior to this I was dieting using intermittent fasting, so I am used to feeling hungry and can deal with it.

Has anyone started taking Biotin before their surgery to help lessen Hair loss? I read somewhere to start taking it a few weeks before surgery.

So I got the 50+ multi Vitamin ( even though I am only 29) it has B12 and also Biotin. I also got the Protein called colleges peptide it is for bone health skin hair etc and has complete amino acids it has 18grams clean protein! I only use unflavored protein. I don’t like the extra carbs or the artificial sugar in the zero carb Proteins. Hope this helps. I am super am scared of hair loan

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to check out the collagen peptides. I already take B12, so I plan to keep taking it after surgery, along with Biotin. I am old, 57, and I ordered bariatric Multi Vitamins. Like you, I am scared about Hair loss. My hair is my best feature!

Little late to the party (my buddy who had his VSG a couple years ago told me about the site just yesterday) - my surgery (VSG) was on 1/6 - this past Monday! Done at Swedish in downtown Seattle with Dr. Sarah Martin del Campo.

Be careful collagen is not a complete Protein and shouldn't be counted in your protein totals. It only has 8 of 9 amino acids required to be a complete protein. It is still beneficial though. Here is a good article explaining the benefits and shortcomings of collagen.

My surgery date for the Rouen-Y Bypass is next Friday! Jan. 17th. It will be done in Cleveland Clinic by Dr. Aminian. I am 65 and this starts a new chapter in life. I've lost 34# to reach my goal weight. I'm so excited. However, having some trouble. I am one week into my Protein Shakes (800 cal) and Clear Liquids. I am so weak and shaky. Does anyone know if this just me having to adjust and it taking time? I'm afraid if I am feeling this way after surgery, I will fail. This is not a good feeling! I wont be able to exercise. What's your thoughts?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
