Is Smoking bad for the band?

Recommended Posts

I know it is bad for me but I need to know if it can hurt the band? I read another post that smoking can cause ulcerations around the band. I've been having really bad acid reflux and I wanted to see if it was smoking related. Please advise.

Smoking is so bad for the entire body it's not beyond belief that it could increase the chances of erosion. But it's not "bad for the band," an inert piece of silicone.

STOP SMOKING. It probably is a contributing factor to your reflux.

What a great opportunity you have to start fresh in more ways than one! You've been banded so you can take control of your weight and now you can think seriously about quitting smoking!

If you succeed in quitting, your health will improve even more! Just think, in another year, you'll be a bodacious babe, able to breathe better, and you'll be able to taste your food better, too!

I hope you decide to give up the butts instead of worrying about having complications due to smoking! You know you can do anything you set your mind on!! :clap2:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
