Thanks everyone! The nausea has subsided, I really got nauseous when they had given me the dilaudid for pain. I’m home now, took an oral dilaudid and it didn’t do much for pain. Had picked up some liquid Tylenol and gas-x, trying to get the Tylenol down now but gosh is that stuff disgusting 🤮! Suture sites are very sore and have a bit of a headache. Very bloated, but not gassy. The largest incision site was bleeding a little bit so I put a large bandage over it. Still getting up to walk as much as possible.

Had about 2.5 oz of broth w/ a small amount of GENEPRO around 430. Going to try a SF ice pop before bed.

hope everyone is doing well!

Dilaudid ? can I come over?

Oh no I hope my taste buds don’t change I’m all about the foods they say we are aloud to have. I’m not a junk food eater just have a non existent metabolism with a lot of health problems that I hope will be resolved once the weight comes off. I’ve got a lot of hope and positive energy and feeling good about all this. My starting weight was 296 and I’m at 255 now hoping to get to 250 in the next 7 days. Do you mind if I ask what surgery are you getting I’m getting the RNY bypass.

Hello my friends hope everyone is doing well, I finally made it home they kept me an extra day as I couldn’t be on any pain meds as I have kidney failure and they could damage them more. I was also throwing up a lot. I’ve only thrown up once here at home and that’s because I couldn’t get my chicken broth to dissolve completely and started choking on it which triggered me to throw up.
my nutritionist did tell me when I left I was doing so well I could move on to stage 2 when I got home. I do think since the chicken broth didn’t go so well I’ll hold off a few more days. I’m getting 5000 steps in. My pain is getting better but still there. Hard to sleep wish I had one of those hospital beds. My doctor did take me off of10 of my meds which is 22 pills which will help in saving my kidneys😀. Tomorrow’s my birthday the 14th and I’m so happy I had this done the pain will eventually be gone and I will eventually be healthy. As soon as I’m up to it and feeling good I plan on doing a lil shopping with my daughter. My goal is a size 8

Thank you, I’ve been needing to get off of a lot of meds for a long time, they’ve slowly damaged my kidneys, I had a shunt placed in my brain to remove excess Fluid and was told then they would take me off some of the meds but they never did because they said they couldn’t. The shunt was for my pseudo tumor cerebrum condition and I was having seizures. I have a feeling if everything goes well with this they may even remove my shunt at some time in the future. A girl can hope. Dr did mention it to me. Day 3 post op I’m very s

Day 3 post op I’m very sore, and not just my belly my hips and shoulders feel like they have been squeezed tight into a tube or something they didn’t fit in. Lol I’ve been doing a lot of stretches trying to ease this pain. Walking walk-in walking 5000 steps is my goal everyday for now I’ll eventually get back to my 10,000 + when im not so sore. My dog Jalapeño he’s a chihuahua. Appreciates the break too lol. Gonna make a cauliflower chicken broth very mushy Soup today I’ve been dreaming about it for days so I can’t wait to have it. Thanks for the birthday wishes feeling like I made the best decision ever and looking forward to my future. Best wishes to you all and if anyone needs any recipes for Soups I love make soups and I’m pretty creative. Gonna make a eggplant and Tomato one soon. Bless you all♥️🤗

This is so exciting seeing everyone’s progression from before surgery to after surgery! Mine is scheduled for Monday and I have to be there at 5:30am. I take my preop meds at 4:30am. I’m so excited and nervous. When I started the program I was 280 and as of today I am 259.8. I’ve lost 10 lbs on the 2 week diet as of this morning. I’m buying some GasX, Stool softener to have that ready at home. They already prescribed me Zofran and Tramadol for after surgery and I have that at home. I want to order the Unjury flavorless Protein Powder but I keep forgetting lol

Hey everyone! Just joined here today for support, info and guidance. I'm scheduled for the sleeve on 12/23. Starting to get nervous, anxious and second guessing myself. All normal feelings I'm sure.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
