FEP Blue Approval Time

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with getting an approval through FEP Blue. I have finished all of the requirements and my surgeons office is going to submit the request and curious as to what the turn around time is for the approval.

Thanks!

  • There was nothing that came through the portal. I got a call from surgeons office that I was approved then got an approval letter about a week later.

  • 3 working days for me. However no official call or confirmation letter. I called insurance rep after 2 weeks of waiting and learned the good news.

tomorrow will be my final consult before surgery (oct 14th) and they will submit tomorrow so I will let you guys know how long it currently takes... how had the sleeve and who had rny? just currious

I believe it took about a month to get my approval. I had the gastric sleeve.

I had a quick turnaround w/insurance. It didn't take long to get approval for the hospital stay. In fact, my overall bill was SURPRISINGLY low. I had RNY, and w/corona, they were very flexible. I got a letter in the mail (along with all the stupid EOB.. ugh) for my approval. I never saw anything on the app or online.

3 working days after surgeon's paperwork was submitted to FEP Blue. However no official call or confirmation letter. Nothing on their website/portal. I called insurance rep after 2 weeks of waiting and learned the good news.
