Hello everyone...am new to this blog. First of all all of you look great and are a great inspiration. Little about me I had gastric sleeve 2 years back and now plastic surgery last month. wanted to see if some of you can give a feed back on Faja's. am short only 5' feet and can't seem to fit into any faja at all as they are all big. can anyone make a suggestion on what I can do or even how important is to wear as you all seem to have great results. Thank you.

Are they too big in the torso, hips? Have a tailor take a sector out or sew it closer to your proportions.

The recommendations varies on whether to wear one or not. If you had any amount of liposuction, surgeons will suggest them for better results.

they may or may not for skin removal (may suggest a binder or lighter compression garments instead) but I know can be important when trying to keep swelling to a minimum to prevent sutures from breaking, but binders can handle that too.

Fajas can be uncomfortable until you get used to them. But you can also become dependent because of the support they provide. Then you’ll need to wean off.
If your surgeon said wear one, begrudgingly do it. But the moment you can take it off permanently, don’t hesitate.

Thanks for your response. all garments are very long as I have a small torso. are you able to suggest any particular one that you might have used before?

What area are you in? There are lots of custom faja shops in the Miami area. Your best bet might be having one made for your specifications. Google custom fajas, lots of options out there.

Hi Kristieshannon...thanks for your response. I am in california, but I had my surgery in Miami. so confused if I should just keep on wearing the binder my surgeon gave me. The surgeons office said to wear stage 1 faja with foams, I am not even sure how to wear foams I mean they gave me 2 so do I wear them to the sides where the Lipo was or on the abdomen or what. so frustrating as i am 4 weeks post op today.

I had little luck with finding a faja that fit me as well (was 5’2”, 110-ish lbs at the time).

I had better luck with “separates”. I would wear my (too big) faja, then put on my shrug-like arm compression top (which my mom had to alter to make smaller) then a really snug sports bra on top of that, and then i used TWO abdominal binders on my midsection as well. Why 2? Well, i had a really tall one that spanned from my underboob to my hips, but i could never get it to fit snug on my waist, so i strapped on a shorter one on top to cinch it. Ta-da!

I felt like a mummy, but i kinda liked it, lol.

Someone mentioned above that there is a weaning process involved, and yeah i ended up loving that “snug” feeling so much I probably wore all my getup much longer than i needed to.

Good Luck! ❤️

P.S. i had a Tummy Tuck, breast lift and arm lift done.

Date night. It’s # 5 with this guy, I’m thinking he’s a keeper! With and without a denim jacket. Our PNW weather hasn’t caught on yet that it is supposed to be warm & sunny.

A couple of weeks before Covid hit in 2020 & we entered lockdown I bought this outfit & it has been taunting me in my wardrobe ever since. Decided I wasn’t going to wait for a special event any longer so dinner wth my hairdresser current & former stylist was it. New French inspired restaurant in a small country town. My hair looked way better later as we had our regular hair appointment before dinner. The skirt is amazing. Known as the doona skirt as there is a layer of wadding inside. Still didn’t keep me warm enough though lol.

All of the Fajas I used were Colombian brands (M&D) but I think having them altered to your dimensions may be more important that any particular brand (if they provide the same level of compression)

If you do get them altered ask to har the seems on the outside so there are not marks made on your skin from the fabric.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
