Our trip to Chicago was a huge hit..... If any of you are in the area.... and money is no object, make a reservation at NEXT restaurant..... it was amazing. The photo in front of the flowers was at The Drake hotel and the other was Buckingham Fountain

I'm doing a Mud Run in a couple weeks and I confess that I have spent more time trying to figure out what to wear that weekend vs actual training!

Got these running pants and sports bra delivered today and decided this is what I'm gonna wear. Suitable for getting muddy, yes?

I guess now I can spend more time preparing for the run! 😂

P.S. Yes, I still wear scar tape on my arms!

Perfect for a mud run! I still us scar tape too. It’s a good camouflage for the scars :)

You know I always get a little thrill when you say i have "legs for days", LOL.

But truth be told, its all an illusion. I am super short, so my legs are pretty short as well. They just look long cuz (1) i'm standing by myself and (2) I have a pretty high natural waist. You would think that would mean I have long-ish legs for my frame, but really, I just have a long abdomen (and a long-ish a$$ LOLOLOLzzzz)!

One day I'll post a pic with a regular-sized person standing next to me and the illusion will disappear and you'll see my hobbit legs in relativity. 😂

“Hobbit legs” lol, me too! Knee length skirts keep the illusion. Love your mud race outfit! Leggings are great on your super fit running legs:)

My daughter is getting married tomorrow (again, they had a tiny little COVID wedding last year, this is a re-do with all the relatives). Tonight is the very casual rehearsal dinner. I’m bound and determined not to look matronly. I’ll post my dress tomorrow :)

Hobbit legs😂😂😂 why did that just crack me up! No they dec don’t look short. They look long and slim! Id just take slim. Doesn’t matter how much I lose my legs are my heaviest part of my body. I’ve always wanted long slim legs. Even if yours are an illusion if even take the illusion! Lol

Nothing matronly there! You look great. Congratulations and looking forward to seeing your non-matronly mother of the bride dress.

Love the mud camouflage outfit for the mud run @ms.sss. Your hobbit legs look super fine. 😉

Looking goooood @BayougirlMrsS. Very confident & sexy in that fitted dress. Glad you had a fab time in Chicago too.

Perfect for a casual dinner @kristieshannon & 100% not frumpy. Can’t wait to see you in your M-of-the-bride dress.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
