Hi Jenn!

I am a newbie here too, so there are many, many, people here much better suited to answer your question. That said, I believe once you get your actual date your Doctor will get you instructions for any liquid diet you need. (Not all of them require them and they vary quite a lot.) You can always call them to be sure.

Anyway, from one Newb to another, welcome! Keep chipping away at it!

I just want to say Welcome and congratulations. Well for me I don't have to start a pre-opt diet and my surgery is the 19 of March I just can't gain no more weight. I'm very excited right now!

Thank you Odia! Congratulations on your journey, I went through the process twice and gave up this time I’m going through with it so I’m excited to get a date 😊But good luck with you surgery and your journey.

Welcome to all of you!! Very exciting times 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yea, pre op AND post op diets vary greatly. As you progress and read more posts it may / will make you question the plan your surgeon has laid out for you. Especially when you’re still on liquids and someone who had surgery the same time as you is already eating, like EATING EATING! Lol!
Congratulations to all and good luck on your prospective journeys 👍🏻

If you're talking about the pre-op diet, it's the two weeks before your surgery date. I didn't have to do a liquid diet pre-op, just restricted to 1500 calories per day. Then of course post-op you do two weeks liquid diet right after surgery as well.

It depends on your doctor but a 2 week pre-op diet seems to be pretty common.

I'm having my surgery at The University of Vermont Medical Center, and their program requires a full liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. I started it on March 12 and my surgery is on March 26th. I hope that helps.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
