I am really frustrated lately. I’m 2 months post op... My last post op appointment with my surgeon was February 19, and since then I’ve only lost 3 pounds! Is this normal????
I’ve been bouncing back and forth between 313 and 311 on the scale. I try to only weigh in 2 times a week.
I’ve lost a total of 58 pounds so far.
My caloric intake is between 900-1100 calories per day and I’m taking in 50-64 ounces of unsweetened iced tea per day. (I hate drinking Water, and digestive system does not accept artificial sweeteners... IBS, sorry for TMI) I do drink one cup of coffee per day with 1 teaspoon of dairy free Creamer as well. I do not drink Protein Drinks due to extreme nausea but substitute solid Proteins to compensate to be sure I’m getting enough Protein daily. (Canned tuna or chicken in water for example)
Due to lymphedema I will be seeing a physical therapist at the end of the month for an evaluation. Hopefully this will give me a kick start and get things moving again. But would love to get some suggestions from the gastric sleeve community in the meantime.
This stall has lasted too long in my book, and I’m just feeling defeated. It would be nice to know I’m not the only one going through this alone. Thanks in advance for any input!

I'm only at 46 days, but I have already experienced a stall for like 2.5 weeks. Like you I kept going up and down 3 lbs. I was getting really depressed about it too. But the doctor said (and from what I've read here) is that this is pretty common. The is a lot going on in our bodies right now that can seem like we are not losing weight. From swelling, Water retention, Constipation, and just your body adjusting to this new calorie intake. He said not to worry, the weight would start going down again soon enough and it did. This is when I started taking my measurements. I have lost 1 inch in each of my thighs and 4 at my waist. It is a consolation when the scale is not moving much. I bet when you start seeing the PT you will see your weight going down a lot faster again.

Stalls are normal, albeit frustrating. It really does start moving again. I'm just 3 months post-op and thinking things were going so slowly, but in reality any downward movement is good movement and the stalls only lasted a couple of weeks and now things are moving really well again. It'll happen. Trust the process.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
