I’m scheduled to have the sleeve on April 3rd. I’m currently on day 3 of my 2 week clear liquid diet & it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done! 😔

April 11th. I'm starting a new job exactly two weeks after surgery, hopefully I'll be ready to roll by then!

Hi Angie,

why was your surgery awlful? I hope you are doing better!
I started my period the day of my surgery. So the entire time I was in the hospital I was bleeding really heavily, the pain was unbearable even with medicine. I couldn't do any walking because I would almost pass out every time I tried to stand up. I could hardly make it to the commode to go to the bathroom. I couldn't wipe myself. I bled everywhere. It's been 11 days and I am doing better, but there was a point there at the beginning that I didnt know how I was going to get through it.

I agree. I’m on day 6 and it’s still tough. However I’m only on liquid, not clear.

I am on day 2 of my liquid diet. Yesterday was ok until the evening came. I felt really bad, but I realized that my calories were pretty low. However, I lost 3 lbs! But I am going to do better today calorie wise.

11 days and doing better

@angie_is_losing_it

i'm so sorry you are having a rough time. I know many OP have had their period during/right after surgery.

For many, that must be an awful experience dealing with it and just having had WLS. not being able to walk, bathroom issues - all that blood. i can only imagine how you feel, not good. 😪

Glad things are turning around now, hopefully you will feel better day, by day.

good luck

kathy

April 18th. I'm still getting used to the fact that I committed to the surgery. Do the doubts ever go away?

I hope they do. Especially with some people telling you that you can just lose it on your own. 😞

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
