Lol. I am super sore and still have some gas pain in my shoulder. But regarding my fluids I’m not really having a difficult time at all getting everything down. It’s almost concerning how easy it is :/

Same I’m able to slip on my Water just fine with barely any discomfort.

I know what you mean! Drinking is so easy, if it wasn't for the gas pain and twinges in my abdomen I'd wonder if he even did the surgery!! Have had 55 oz today, and it's mid afternoon.

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking. It was almost too easy to get down. But then I really think about everything I’ve tried today and it has taken the full day to get the fluids and Protein Shakes down. For some reason unsweetened applesauce with a little bit of cinnamon added in soothes my stomach. I think it’s the cold. The broths are not working for me at all. I’ve tried 3 different types and they’re just gross to me. SF popsicles are amazing though lol

Anybody noticed the taste bud changes? I’d heard about the possibility but was surprised that has happened to me. Things are much sweeter than pre-op. It also seems that my sense of smell has kicked into high gear. I can’t even have chilled Water from the fridge if there is uncovered food in there. I can taste it in the water.

I haven’t noticed my taste buds changing just yet. I’ll fine out on Tuesday when I move to yogurt and cottage cheese.

Hi everyone, my name is Tereza from San Diego California. Married with 4 kids. Started at 230 at 5”4 and trying to get to a healthy weight of around 165-170. I had the sleeve 5 days ago and I am sore. They gave me narcos to take home which has me sleepy all the time. I need to walk more but too tired.

Hi, Tereza, welcome! I had gastric bypass on the 27th, so Monday is day 5. My stats are the same as yours. I gained 10 lbs of Water weight in the hospital and am not yet down to my surgery weight of 229. I am 5' 3.5".

I am feeling discouraged today😞 my muscles ache and my left side of my chest hurts every time I take a deep breath.

I felt a little bit of that last night too (my surgery was the 26th). I actually had cramping feelings in my chest.

Then, I finally had a bm (first one since surgery - 5 days), and I felt much better. Have you had a bm? Day 6 is better!

I met with the dietician today and she talked about how some of us might feel “buyers remorse.” She said it’s about to get much better. Just hang in there. Soon you will be flying!

I had my surgery on the 27th which was Wednesday. Came home late Friday. I actually had a bowel movement on Saturday, Sunday and today. The Gas goes up my neck and the gas tablets do not help. I have been walking as well. I am also experiencing muscle aches. But I emailed my nutritionist a few minutes ago asking if I can start my Vitamins. Waiting to hear back. Thank you for your support

It’s my first day back to work and my one week post op appointment. 14lbs gone since surgery which is unreal. No more pain meds so I can drive. Thought I’d be more “on” at work but, man o’ man, am I dragging. I’m at an office so no heavy lifting or excessive movement but still just wiped out. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Wow, I can’t believe you went back after only a week! That’s why you’re dragging I bet! I return on Friday for light labor (that’s early too, my two week post op appt is ok April 8).

Hang in there

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
