Weight regain can happen with any type of surgery. Behavior change and the choices you make will be a factor in your outcome. There are many sleevers that have kept the weight off long term.

  • I am getting on the road to go to the hospital! Going by myself and will be there all by myself for the majority of the time until my husband comes later in the week. I have been having such an awesom

Ugh.. so was really happy last week. I can visually see a huge difference, but feel frustrated this week. So I am back at the gym after gallbladder surgery and today I am up 5 lbs from last week. I haven't changed anything except working out, and I have only gone twice this week. Just needed to vent. I am posting my before and current pictures because I still have a ways to go, but need to remind myself how far I have come!FC76A2F9-.jpeg 20190924_182832.jpeg

You do look good. Take a minute to celebrate how good you look and how far you have come

Thank you. You are funny Gaby. How are you doing?

I love your dress and those shoes are amazing.

I'm doing ok. I'm going to be having an EGD because I have an off and on again stomach pain/upset since surgery. I haven't got the date yet until they get the approval. I will let you know what I find out.

I'm at 251 and have lost 87 pounds. I feel like I should have lost more, but probably am waiting too much. Last night I ate a whole croissant with no ill feeling. If eat chicken it hurts after a few bites. I try to stick to soft proteins. Yogurt is the easiest on my stomach. I still have tons of restriction, but am finding I can graze a bit. I'm still trying to be very mindful of what I eat.

I am at a BMI of 39.9 which is just below morbid obesity. I still have a long way to go. I really hope it get there by 18 months. My dr and I will go over my options at 12 months to see if i need/want a revision to DS. I'm having so much lose skin and would consider doing my arms. I carry my weight in my upper half of my body and have way smaller legs. I guess we all have our problem areas. Mine is my arms, breasts and stomach.

You're looking good! How much do you have to lose to goal? I'm at a spot that most people started. But, overall I feel pretty amazing! Take care! Stay in touch. ?

We really are surgery twins we have the same surgery date and the same starting weight! I hope the EGD helps. It really is difficult when you are unable to eat . By this time you just want to feel normal.

i feel you on the loose skin, I try to suck in my stomach most of the time but doggone it, I have to breathe. I still have about 40 to 45 pounds to lose. I am hoping my stomach goes away with those 45 pounds.

Lets take a moment acknowledge the fact that you lost 87 pounds! That is amazing, I looked at some of my original post and I wrote something like if I lose 90 pounds in six months, I will be dancing down the street! Here we are. Did you think you would ever be able to say, I lost 87 pounds in seven months or so? I

I ❤️ this post!

Losing 87 pounds is crazy good progress!

I’m feeling you on the excess skin.
I’m kinda bummed to realize that for me to truly achieve ALL of my goals, then skin removal might have to be in my future. I’m almost beyond any hope that the places that are really loose and saggy are going to fix themselves, but for now I’m going to take it one day at a time.

I posted this in the OOTD thread, but I’m pretty excited bc an outfit I ordered came in and the weather finally turned cool enough for me to start wearing tights and boots.

If you would’ve told me that I’d be wearing size medium 8 months ago I would’ve danced and not stop dancing.
Now I try to not be upset about having to wear the tights to keep the extra skin sag from showing because it means what used to fill out all that extra skin is now gone

So I am finally posting the before and during pictures. Can’t wait to post the after. The first picture of my husband and mewwl_8189.thumb.jpg.389c38e2909ca0f691dd27c867223584.jpg was taken in April of 2018 and helped me to confirm I NEEDED help. The second picture was taken this past Sunday at a play. Also , NSV Fit in the seat comfortably. Also, please pretend my eyes are open.

Sheri sorry but you are sexy!!!! My stomach looks like elephant skin but oh well. At least I can walk on the beach now. I tried to enjoy the beach before my surgery and my hips and ankles hurt so bad I could barely get down a little ways and back. I am not proud of how my stomach and back of my legs look because of the texture of my skin but I’m just trying to focus on the good stuff.... You look amazing in this outfit!

I’ll be honest I was confused when I look at these two pictures because I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to be looking for in the first picture. You look so different!!! I know you’re frustrated but maybe it is some muscle weight gain? You look great!

@sherribear... way to step up your fashion game! I love that dress and the boots and tights go very well. You have come along way. I remember reading your post complaining about big thighs. What thighs? You look great. Also, if you fit into a medium....nothing is big.

Tell you what...let’s see if we can get a group discount on skin removal.

@sherribear, I left out you get five extra fashion point cause your phone matches your dress!

Lol!
thanks. That was completely unintentional.

Okay so I promise I do have big thighs in relation to the rest of me, but those control top tights are a bariatric patients best friend ??

Hi, all. I got access to a scale today and am now down to 138 pounds. As many of you have said, I could never have imagined being this weight six months ago. I was realistically hoping to get to between 170 to 180 and would have been happy with that result.

I'm attaching a recent photo from my trip to Stockholm. (Please note that I'm not showing off a cute outfit in this picture.) What you can't see here is the loose skin all over my body--but I certainly prefer that to weighing 100 pounds more!

Thank you so much. I try not to let myself get frustrated and discouraged, but was already having a rough day when I posted. I am feeling much better since then.

Looking GREAT!

isn’t it funny? Many people seeing us for the first time would never guess that 8 months ago we were scheduled for bariatric surgery.

This morning I had an early Pilates class and it was a beginner level class bc that time slot was the only one that worked for me.
There were a couple brand new ladies in class— both of them fairly overweight— I’ve done Pilates for 7 months now and know all of the mods to make my workout tougher.
One of the newbies said something about it and yet another member said “maybe we can do those things if we can get as skinny as her”
Felt surreal to hear that
