Weight regain can happen with any type of surgery. Behavior change and the choices you make will be a factor in your outcome. There are many sleevers that have kept the weight off long term.

  • I am getting on the road to go to the hospital! Going by myself and will be there all by myself for the majority of the time until my husband comes later in the week. I have been having such an awesom

Congrats Frou Frou and Sheri! I guess I need to get on the ball!

The app I posted that from is from the scale I purchased at the beginning of March.
It’s a Weight Guru scale and the matching app.
I like it a lot and it also syncs with apple health and my fitness pal.
Scale was about $50 at bed bath and beyond and I used a 20% off coupon for it so I thought that was a decent bargain.

Yay, hard work is paying off... lost a pound! I'm 3 lbs away from a 100 pound total loss (via sleeve and bypass). I can't quite believe it.

This is FABULOUS news!!!

Congrats on your hard work paying off

So Frou Frou - Did you have two separate procedures? I know you have been posting recently about being on a plateau. That’s a lot of weight loss!

Yes - sept '17 I had the Sleeve. Got a leak two days later and spent nearly 3 months in hospital... 6 surgeries to try to fix it. I lost 80 lbs though, probably because during those 3 months nothing, not even water, passed my lips. Then I got stuck in a plateau for a while and after everything that happened... I got a bit depressed. Put on 25 lbs and my surgeon suggested RNY, so I did that and here I am.

Wow! What a journey!!!

Thanks. I think there is also some sort of bariatric pal app. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I know of the Baritastic app. Not sure if that is what you were thinking of

Yes Goody! That's it! Thanks.

Welcome

Congratulations Sheribear and Froufrou! It's really motivating to hear about the successes of others in our group.

One the other end of the spectrum, I've been stalled for about a week, even gaining a pound on some days. I'm now exercising regularly and am strictly observing the food program, so there's no explanation. (Of course, I am stuck at 189 pounds, so I guess I can't really complain. ? )

I've been MIA (and I'm still trying to catch up on the forums), but since December (when I started the WLS process) I've lost 81 pounds ?

Half of that is probably hair **sobs into my hairbrush** but I'm closing in on 100kgs and that's pretty awesome.

Great to see everyone still chugging along and supporting each other! ❤️

Hi EmzBee--wondered where you went to. Good to hear from you. 81 pounds!!! I can't believe it! So, you ARE losing hair. Are you losing a lot? I am afraid that is still coming for me. ? How have you been feeling? I get asked that question soooo many times and to be honest, I'm still not feeling "great," but mainly just frustrated with how long it takes me to eat, stomach gurgling after I do eat that feels like hunger pains, some chest discomfort, figuring out what to eat, intestinal distress, etc. I want to say "I feel great" but wonder if I every will. On the bright side, losing 40 lbs has been great. I don't seem to be losing it as fast as y'all but I'm only doing 5,000 steps of exercise a day. Just hoping the scale will continue to be my friend at 1lb or so a week.

That is a huge weight loss, Recidivist. I'm at the exact same weight as you but started at 230. You are rocking it! As for your stall, were you starting to eat wrong foods or too much food? Just curious.

I don't think I'm eating the wrong things or eating too much. The main difference is that I've started to incorporate more "real" food into my diet and fewer shakes.
