No, I was in fact pleasantly surprised since I still feel some heartburn when I'm late with my meds (I sometimes notice it when working late). I expected the usually inflammation stuff they always seemed to find during the past years.

At least the damage is being repaired!

In the left photo (pre-op) , I was in my choir’s 80s concert. In the right photo (7 months post-op) I was in the play “You Can’t Take It With You”.

You literally don't even look like the same person. You look younger, and you have the look of a naturally thin person. How long did the total transformation take?

Great idea!

I'm just so full as I write this because over the last 10 months, I'm down 108.7 lbs. I had a revision from the lap-band to SIPS and I couldn't be more happy. I did have some complications in the beginning which required a month long stay in the hospital, but even with that, I don't have any regrets! My life is on TEN!!!

Even though I have not shared publicly my WLS experience with friends, people seem to be genuinely happy for the new me. I've always socialized, but I'm even more eager to hang out with my friends, go on couples dates, business social settings, etc. because I can easily find something to wear and feel even more confident in myself.

I'm feeling great physically. No more back and knee pain. Off of all meds (blood pressure, cholesterol, symbicort breathing treatment) and off of CPAP machine for sleep apnea. Also, since having the lap-band removed as part of the revision, I no longer have acid reflux. While the vanity is great, the health benefits have me over the moon ecstatic! I'm sooooooooooo happy!

Amazing job!! You deserve some kind of medal for that achievement! 👍🎉

8 weeks out from my ESG and I’m down 30lbs!! From 204 to 174! Sooo glad I did this. 19 more lbs till I get to goal! Really didn’t think with all going on in my life (full time speech therapist/rehab director in a nursing home, own/operate pizza shop with my husband and babysit granddaughter a couple days a week..!) that I would manage to stick to the program so well. But I did! 😃

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
