Will be 6 weeks post-op when traveling for Thanksgiving...

Hi All,

I just had my 2 week post-op appointment and I feel great..Down 40 pounds since I began the pre-op diet. My 6 week appointment is the Monday before Thanksgiving and my wife and I are headed to LA for the holiday weekend. I'm concerned b/c we're staying at a hotel and I'll be forced to eat at restaurants for 4 straight days. I'm looking for advice re: which popular menu items I should lean, which I should avoid and any other tips. Thanks so much!

just stick to lean proteins, nothing too processed or greasy.

At 6 weeks I was just experimenting. This week is 9 weeks post and I am still experimenting and some things that I would think wouldn't bother me, actually do.

Super easy, stick to the fresh veggies and lean meats, really easy to do! Avoid anything that could have added sugar (soups are bad for this) or anything fried. Separate out what you can eat first, then put the rest away, to avoid being tempted to over eat. Don't forget your base rules (don't drink while eating, don't drink for 20-30 mins after eating, etc) Don't forget to keep water with you and stay hydrated, it's VERY easy to forget when traveling!
