I'm 10 days post-op and feeling great, I haven't taken any pain pills in these 10 days.

I'm drinking 3 Premier Protein shakes per day, 1 cup of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom Soup strained, two sugar-free popsicles, 1/3 cup sugar free pudding and Water. On average I'm consuming about 83 ounces of liquid.

The doctor and the nutritionist said I am doing exceptionally well, I feel very blessed!

That sounds great. I’m not getting enough in - it’s very tedious and I’m lethargic. You’ve inspired me.

Actually, do you premier count toward fluids? If so, doing better than I realize!

I don't count it towards my fluids, just my Protein. I judge my hydration on the color of my urine.

Yes, my nutritionist said to count them, they are 11oz each

All liquids count toward your Fluid totals. Can't remember about caffeinated beverages though. And yes, you should double check that your urine is light to clear, but you do need to track and make fluid intake a priority. @The Preacher congrats! Great report!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
