I've got a little bit longer than the rest of you since I'm right by Thanksgiving, but I already ordered the sample pack of Syntrax Nectar flavors so I can try them out and see what ones I like the best before my liquid diet, because it's too pricey to get big tubs of each of them! I've already tried some of the Premier Protein and that's a good one, too. Trying to get ready ahead of time so it won't but such a shock. My final pre-op meeting isn't until Nov 9, but my surgery was already approved! Now I'm just waiting on FMLA paperwork to come back in for work.

Hey there let us know about the Syntrax… I am doing Premier after surgery and was able to do It on Amazon monthly delievery subscribe and save so about 15% off which I am excited about, and also ordered some ensure Protein I was able to get a 24 pack for 30 which I didn't think was bad and my dr recommend pre surgery because lactose free.

Just got the approval today, I will have a set date in November on Monday!!! So very excited but nervous about the cost out of pocket. I was told I have to pay $2,800 up front. To meet deductible and coinsurance I think. Hoping for no cost after.

Got single packets of all 15 flavors in this sample bag. Just tried my first one today, went with the pink grapefruit. Not bad, did taste a little like juice. Mixes up way smoother with a drink blender instead of a shaker cup if you have one. No sugar, no carb, very low calories when you mix with Water. It's a whey isolate Protein, supposed to be high quality and lactose free. I might try mixing some of the flavors with skim milk and ice, some of the videos I've watched say they taste a lot like a milkshake.

I recently bought the Syntrax sweets vanilla bean tort and it is really good with some skim milk i sometimes add a little sf salted caramel Syrup or some PB2 and its a really good shake and a little something sweet for the sweet tooth

WOW!!! That is amazing, I have a toddler and a little nervous about recovery because she has a lot of special needs but this just made me feel very hopeful!! to say the least. It is awesome that you are doing this in a way together I am sure it will help you keep each other in check so to speak!

Congrats and Welcome! I think 2800 is fantastic but my insurance is covering nothing lol so I may be a little biased. The way my cost is broken down is anastesia (pre pay is cheaper) surgeon fee and then hospital fee. It is a great feeling to get that date though and know it is about to be a reality! Congrats!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
