Black people are not looking to the mainstream culture for acceptance about the language they use in thier homes/privates spaces...

Not exactly private when it is on TV and in music lyrics though, right?

What a shame; a whole bunch of people simply want to take baby steps to make the world a brighter place, while others refuse to clean it up a bit.

Please pass the spray paint. What's one little can of artwork on the freeway overpass?

or has not been on the internet long enough for her skin to thicken up.

LOL...that happens on the Internet? I thought that was life in general that produced that effect?

:)

Well, since most black people don't own the companies that in the end choose the music they feel is "in" and worth promoting...... then isn't THAT the pot calling the kettle black (no pun intended)

Besides, CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF,:omg: the majority of Black people are not rappers

Very true, I will admend my statement to say:

"Life gives you a thick skin, the internet helps you develop a callous."

By the way, I hate "African American" too. Most of the black people I know have never even been to Africa, let alone are they from there. They're no more "African Americans" than I'm a "Greek American."

I hate taking a subject off road, but to Wheetsin (whose pm box is full) - Your picture looks very familiar to me, and you're greek... Are you by any chance from the Northern VA area? Sorry to intrude if not! I'm just too curious to ignore it any more. :)

If we didn't make tasteless and crude music record labels wouldn't sell it. If record labels didn't sell it we wouldn't make it. It's a neverending cycle. I refuse to buy or listen to the crap that is being promoted. Thank heavens for Common, Kanye, Mos Def and Talib Kweli.

Hi. Just popped in and read the topic and the last few posts. IMO:

1. I'm white and I never say nigger, out of respect.

2. I think black people who say nigger are missing a great opportunity to command respect.

3. Any woman who puts up with being called a Ho or a Bitch has missed the same opportunity.

I find the word abhorrant. However, I also think that we give words WWWWAAAAAAAAYYYYY to much power in our society. Sticks and stones was never truer.

There are ignorant white people that use the government as their lifeline and break the law too. I think this exist in all races. I certainly don't want to pay taxes to fund their lives. Not when i busted my a.. in college and received my degrees. My money is my money and i would like it to go to people who really deserve it... veterans, elderly, mentally ill etc...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
