My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday August 1st.
Today was the start of my clear liquid diet, half way through the day and I feel amazing.
Im getting very nervous about the surgery on Wednesday though, more scared than anything I guess.
Anyone else feel this way right before?

Being nervous is a natural part of the process. One piece of advice is to ask all of your questions to the anesthesiologist and the team before you go under, even if you have already asked them. You will feel better after you do. I have had four major abdominal surgeries and was put at ease by talking with the anesthesiologist and some of the nurses before I started. This also passes the time between when they start the IV and when you wake up in recovery.

You are going to do awesome!

I had my surgery this morning and I was super nervous last night, even had a lot of trouble sleeping. A lot of second guessing even though I’d been thoroughly sure that it’s what I wanted and very thoughtful about evaluating the pluses and minuses.

This morning I had nerves but nothing too major and I was lucky to have a morning appointment (surgery was at 7:30am). Since waking up I’ve had zero regrets or nerves, just excitement about a new adventure! There’s been some pain but nothing major, and I’ve walked around the unit three times.

You’ll be great, find ways to do good, non-food self care to get you through until surgery day! Congrats and good luck!!!!

I'm scheduled for August 9th and I'm feeling really nervous for the procedure itself. I just keep reminding myself this isn't going to be easy, but I am making a brave choice to better myself. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
