So, on vacation with my family in Virginia. Not “ dieting” per se, but being careful and getting in at least 15,000 steps a day. I told myself I could have whatever I wanted, but oddly enough I don’t want much. No desire for ice cream or sweets even in an amazing chocolate shop. I’m anxious to get a jump start on the the whole wright loss process. Toying with the idea of going just with liquids the week before surgery(8-27). Have given up diet sodas and coffee. LOVE my Coke Zero so this has been super tough.

Im not hungry, but I have headaches and I feel tired. I guess its a shock to the body.. but in 3 days I have lost 4.5lbs

That is awesome 👏🏼 I have been having a hard time. I feel like I’m starving and my head hurts I’m sure it’s the lack of sugar and caffeine. I just keep reminding myself that it’s going to be well worth it in the end! I also took “before” pictures, so I keep looking at those every time I need a boost their all the motivation I need. That was my slap in the face to finally really realize I’m doing the right thing.

Just wondering if anyone knows if we can wear a waist trainer right after surgery? If anyone knows of anybody that has or if anyone has can you please share which type...

I'm not sure I know anything about waist trainers, I do know know about abdominal support belts, some surgeons, and hospitals encourage them, some do not. Some leave it up to your discretion.

I have two waist trainers one with a zipper one clasped. Can’t wear them though 5 days post op and I still have a little belly pain. I think I will be able to wear them after next week. I wake up with less pain everyday.

I am by no means an expert but I can't imagine that your surgeon wants you in a waist trainer until, at the very least, your incisions have fully healed. Just a guess. You really need to call that question in to your surgeon.

so I am pretty frustrated at this point. I know it's only been a week and a half since surgery, but should I be losing weight? Any weight? I don't get it! I thought this was a tool to help. I lost 40 lbs prior, but now I'm done? I am getting in my Protein, I am walking, I am drinking. I mean seriously? WTF

I was told that it could take a week or 2 to start losing due to swelling, fluids from your IV and just till your body realizes whats going on. I know its easier said than done but I wouldn't worry yet!

Hi Y'all! My surgery date is August 28th. I'm eating my final favorites this weekend before the pre-op liquid diet starts on Tuesday. I've already warned my coworkers. I'm nervous and excited to get started already. BTW that pic is not me but my beautiful daughter. Good luck to everyone!

@srio77 Good luck to you friend. My surgery is 4 days before yours. I’m only supposed to do the liquid diet the day before surgery but I’m wondering if I should start it sooner to mentally and physically prepare myself.
You’re gonna rock this. I just know it.

Yeah my bariatric center has a 1 week pre surgery liquid only diet. Some folks with a BMI over 40 have to do 2 weeks pre surgery liquid diet. They said it has to do with shrinking down the liver and stomach before surgery. You may want to start sooner than the day before. I'm sure you will do great!

Oh thank you. I was just diagnosed with celiac. The doctor said I was fine to go through with my surgery so I’m thinking starting the liquid diet early will make me feel stronger and healthier. Thank you for the advice.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
