I found a protein shake on Amazon that has 40 grams of protein in each carton

If you can follow @Screwballski's advice,i sure would try an individual bottle first . Maybe I would spend up to $3 for a single or 2, but THAT MUCH on Amazon or anywhere else, NO WAY,MY FRIEND! Buy something on Amazon, have to sell it on E-bay, Craigs List, newspaper or a Garage Sale or worse off ditch it when you move? Sure sounds like a game that should not be played.
Plus additional calories per bottle IDK. I wouldn't be over 300 pounds if calories and I had a GOOD relationship, that's a good reason at 72 I am still willing to go "under the knife" . Don't misunderstand, I deeply respect ( maybe have a teensy professional crush on- he is the type of doctor I wished I had been) my surgeon😷 Dr Needleman but I wish I had the opportunity to meet him at a dinner party somewhere instead of needing his services But I still inch my way toward my RnY surgery, September 5th will be WONDER WEDNESDAY and my REBIRTHDAY but I will make it there without any more excess calories piggy-backing on my poor chassis! And that is the way this Bari-Bud sees things!😛🌏😛

I don't like the Premiere shakes. The only one I don't mind drinking is the Atkins Dark chocolate shake.

I haven't found any that taste good. Some are just less horrible.

Well, I see what you are saying. I am 2 and a half months post op and am having a hard time getting in Protein. What do you consume for Protein?

I mix a 64 oz bottle with my drink at the beginning of the day and put 3 scoops of Protein Powder in it which is 60 grams. I use the unflavoured protein powder. I also add a pack of powdered Vitamins into the mix and then shake it all up very well. Sometimes the protein powder can develop into little tiny 'bits' but I don't really mind that. I make sure I drink the whole thing by the end of the day and then I add more unflavoured protein powder into my tea, or Soup and even in yogurt. Unflavoured protein powder is ma best friend!

They sell unflavoured protein powder on this website. The one I have found in Barbados is the Designer whey unflavored

I use "tera's whey"/ unflavored, unsweetened, 22g Protein. Whipping your concoction in a blender or bullet will give it a silky creamy texture without any tiny floaty bits.

Your body can only absorb about 25-30g of Protein at a time, so going beyond that in one meal isn’t going to help. I recommend the Premier Protein shakes 3x a day. They are only 11oz and go down easy.

I've also been having fun with non-dairy milks. It's amazing how many kinds there are: hemp milk, almond milk, quinoa milk, hickory nut milk, pumpkin seed milk, barley milk, pistachio milk, sunflower seed milk, Brazil nut milk, black walnut milk, hazelnut milk, soy milk, pecan milk, brown rice milk, peanut milk, yellow split pea milk, coconut milk, rice milk, cashew milk, oat milk, banana milk, flax milk, chestnut milk, pine nut milk, spelt milk, poppy milk, paradise nut milk, jacknut milk, heartnut milk, sorghum milk, candlenut milk, tigernut milk and macadamia nut milk.

The milks in red are the ones I've tried. Does anyone know of a "milk" I missed?

No but I found even my Bariatric program for the sainted Ohio State University does recommend that you may mix a certain Protein powder( I believe it is an isolate ) with almond milk and still, have a drink within their guidelines. So almond milk mixed with some powdered still very fine. When I did have a 1st degree relative with casein intolerance, it might make me more prone to develop it also. 👈😥👉
Life is seldom as fearful as our. fears think it will be.
......a wise fortune 🍪.....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
