digging through the freezer for something to eat and found some chicken pot pies i made a while back and froze for future use.

2 mins in the microwave to defrost, then 10 mins in the toaster oven to crisp up the crust.

still as good as the first time, lol.

ate 1/2 for approx 322 calories.

Egg prices in my area are back to normal. I think I paid $1.50 USD for non specialty eggs a week ago.

I’ve resigned myself to only buy fruit on sale/promotion. Somethings I cut and immediately freeze like pineapple. Fruit has been going bad too quickly imho.

Prices are expensive here though my brother said the prices they’re getting for produce are basically the same as what they got 10 years ago. Yet wages are much higher, as is the price of fuel, electricity, Water, fertiliser, equipment, seedlings, transportation, taxes, etc. They are literally losing money every day. Some body (read the supermarkets) is getting the money but it’s not the farmers here.

I still pay about $10 for blueberries. They’ve been huge lately like marbles. The cheaper supermarket ones are always overripe & squishy so I throw most out.

Cigarettes attract a much higher tax here (think it’s more than 70% now) for many reasons including an attempt to reduce smoking (doesn’t seem to really work though cause they switch to vaping) & contribute to the funding of our medical system. They’re also jumping down on vaping here too.

Ah, ok - lol.

eggs have gone up in prices as well, so the hubby says (both the regular and the fancy pants one). So obviously has butter and cheese.

He/We buy usually organic. Buying organic was always more expensive and while the organic stuff has gone up in price as well it's not as out of proportion as the non-organic stuff. Prices have gone up - especially during the last 1-2 years. It's ludicrous and companies trying to make truckloads of money while hiding behind "inflation", "energy prices" and "war".

Yeah, I always look at the ads on Wednesdays and Fridays (ad preview) to see who has what for the week and make my list.

That said, I paid $5.92US for 5 dozen non- fancy pants eggs last week. Which we a far cry from the $22+ it was last year.

I miss paying $3.40 for 5 dozen back in 2020. 😭

When did the "Before and After Pictures" become a general food and meal site?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
