If you eat fast food where do you usually go?
I recently went to Popeyes and I had just one piece of chicken. I tried my best to rip off the breaded pieces but sometimes I’m on the go and forget my lunch or just didn’t meal prep so I need some food ideas. Btw I’m about to be 6 weeks post op.

Eat grilled chicken if possible. I would of ate the mashed potatoes. Smooth easy to chew. I tried fried chicken but it made me feel horrible. Try Whataburger grilled chicken salad... Wendy’s also has salads

McDonald's has egg McMuffins all day. I order it with no cheese, then just eat the egg and ham.

I like Wendy's- I get a small chili (no cheese, crackers, or sour cream) or I get a half berry salad. I also go to Subway sometimes and I get a salad there.

Wendy's chili. Nutritionist said this was a great choice when you have to do fast food.

Pretty sure you can get a Protein Shake or bar from most 711s gas stations convience stores etc. Jerkeys stuff like that as well.

Honestly planning ahead and having some emergency Snacks is what you should be doing (it's early for nuts, but that's a great option)

Getting involved with fast food long term isn't a good idea, even if there's some okayyy ish options they offer

7-11's also have hard boiled eggs and chicken skewers.

There are plenty of good fast food options. If I'm going someplace I just look up their nutritional info menu, so I know I'm making good choices.

I learned a new phrase recently, "Rescue Foods" these are healthy foods/snacks you keep handy in case you need something away from home. Like my American Express card, I never leave home without it.

I think having a strategy for fast food is smart. Life doesn't always go according to plan, so you maybe starving, or rushed, or traveling, or out with others, and need to eat. Or you may just be sick of Jerky and nuts. For whatever reason at some point, most people will end up at a fast food restaurant. It's better to be prepared for it, than be caught not knowing what you should order.

There are better than "okayyy ish" options available. there are actually, smart, good and healthy choices.

I really don’t eat fast food much anymore I’ve had a couple of sliders at Arby’s and they’re pretty good. And that’s about it for me.I really don’t eat fast food much anymore I’ve had a couple of sliders at Arby’s and they’re pretty good. And that’s about it for me.

I don’t really like fast food and obviously I don’t have a big appetite nor do I want to eat fast food. But just in case I come into that trouble.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
