Did anyone else’s doctor tell them a pre-op diet is not necessary?

Hey all,
So I am confused.....I have a doctor who is very experienced and I feel very confident in.....but he told me that he does not need me to do a pre-op diet. My BMI is a little lower and I am Doing self pay, but I would still think this maybe would be necessary? Has anyone else had gastric sleeve without doing the pre-op liver shrinking diet?

In case there's some ambiguity as to what I mean by "successful": I didn't intend to suggest that losing weight prior to surgery equals success. For me, being able to stick to a challenging all-liquid regime for an entire week (without drinking my daily Diet Dr. Pepper) and knowing that this is what would be required of me after surgery -- that's the success I wanted to experience. That would be my pre-op positive boost.

No pre op diet for me either he says it’s all of part of his high success rate which he’s got 5/5 stars on ALL reviews so I trusted him . I’m on day 2 of post op and feel great !
