How do you take pills that need to be taken with food?

I will speak to my surgeons about this soon, but how do you take pills that need to be taken with food? Do you take them immediately before eating? Immediately after? Halfway through a meal?

Because you're not supposed to drink after a meal, and not supposed to take the pills on an empty stomach (right before)

So I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this.

I doubt it makes much of a difference, but if I'm taking pills multiple times a day everyday, I'd rather do things as best as I can

For a long time I have taken pills with pudding. (I'm a crappy pill swallower.) The only difference now is that I use only about 2 teaspoons of pudding instead of finishing a dish!

Sometimes I take with a tiny wee sip of water directly after a meal, if it’s small.

A larger pill I take immediately before eating.

I don’t have any medications that require this though, only I like to do this with my iron pill.

I eat a bite or two of leftover dinner to coat my stomach. I take pills with a sip of water or two. As long as you don't eat a ton of food( by that I mean a meal) and try to take pills and water on top of it you should be fine.
