Congratulations on your surgery photogirl70! I am astonished that you went home the same day of surgery!! How did you manage that? I was so out of it when I woke up from surgery. I was talking like a drunk person and in pain all on 1 side!! I wish they would have tried to send me home!! They would have changed that suggestion real quick once they got a load of me and my mouth! Lol!

Thanks! The doctor I went to does most of the surgeries as outpatient. I don't think I was too out of it. When I woke up they got me up to walk and reviewed discharge info with me and my daughter. I was and still am very sore.

Anyone still having gas pain 1-2 weeks post surgery? (At least I think it’s gas pain) Left side under rib cage radiating to my shoulder, collar bone, left scapula. Comes and goes but this morning was killer. Maybe it has to do with introducing purée yesterday? Or these Protein Shakes? Just took some gas x. Going to see my surgeon today too. Hopefully it’s nothing.....

I am still having some pains in my shoulders. At first it was pressure in my chest as well. I believe it was gas and acid reflux. I am taking acid reflux meds so it has helped with the chest pain. chewable Gas X for the gas pain. Hope this helps!

The only thing that helps gas pain is walking. Even if you can only do a lap around the house, it helps. Good luck!

Yes, I had sharp pain in my left shoulder for at least 2 weeks. I read your post and realized it had been gone for quite a while now but I don’t remember when it stopped ( I’m 5 weeks out. ). My doctor told me it would gradually fade and it did. Hang in there.

I just had my first experience with the foamies. Talk about a nightmare. I obviously didn’t chew well enough and I could feel that the food was stuck. All I wanted to do was vomit but nothing but foam and saliva came up. It took about 20 minutes to pass.

So, foamies, stay the heck away from me.

I was sleeved 7/24. Down 21lbs and feel great! One more week of soft/thick puréed and then on to soft food. Can’t wait for some meat. Having trouble with getting my Protein and Water intake. Is anyone else? Also, I’m hungry every 3 hours- maybe bc I’m not getting enough protein?? Anyway, hope everyone is doing well :-)

Sleeved July 23rd down 27lbs since surgery day. Feeling great! Still on puree for one more week at least...I'm doing mostly fish purees like Shrimp salad and cod in V8 juice. It gives massively high Protein intake. Have been doing aout 10,000 steps a day and was cleared 4 days ago to do 30 minutes of cycling per day (thank god I was going mad).

@Leanbean I was also sleeved on 7/24 down 17 lbs. My Dr. cleared me for soft food starting Monday and I was ready! I was having trouble getting my Protein, the shakes make me nauseous so that was a no go. Getting in right at my 60 grams yesterday and today.

@mrsplace That is great! Good for you! What kind of things are you eating? meat, fish? I think once I can eat tuna or ground meat, I will be good. Protein Shakes are rough on my stomach too. And I need to start exercising too. Today is exactly 3 weeks and determined to start this weekend. I went back to work last week and it kind of wore me down, so I didn’t want to push the exercise until I was ready.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
