Mrsplace reacted to Frustr8 in Checking inAppropriate of nothing necessarily but FRUSTR8 LOST 6,5 POUNDS IN JUST ONE WEEK. FIREWORKS PLEASE⛅?⛅! -
Mrsplace got a reaction from Frustr8 in Any one go home the same day ?I went home the same day. My surgery band to sleeve revision, was at 11:00 am and I was home by 8:30 pm. -
And you,guys and gals don't realize how thrilling I it is to ,have a namesake thread. It means i, have arrived! Yo7nsee i,spent much of,my,life nameless. I was,somebody's daughte, somebody wife, mother or,grandmother. Do,you,know,how i,feets to,be merely an appendage, not a real,person! Now I am,I really,am!
Green Tealael, says I shouldl change my pen name since I have nothing to be upset, about. Oh,G. Tealael, you don't know the backstory to my life. Unless, a miracle happens 2 weeks from today, I will be facing a eviction hearing, and I financially cannot avoid it. Social Security pays you back for your life abysmally. My utilities and insurances and cable- which take care of internet and ☎ land'- line phone. Water which I pay and owner does not. Oh and. I almost forgot Rumke , my trash company. This varies a little, If I pay all my utilities $477.83. he wanted 400 every month for rent, that leaves me with $79.37 for transportation , food and an occasional Wendy ? for Tomkitten. Averages out to $17.63 per week, need to buy milk, eggs, and meat out of that.Try going to food pantries, their choice dispersal, Kraft macaroni and cheese flavoring aka Carbo's Happy City. And as a bypass the direct pathway to DUMPING!
How did I get in this Mell of Hess? Well I am persueing final settlement of Workman Comp case . As long as I was getting paid my temporary partial, I was chugging along pretty fine, when I reached maximum Medical inprovement, it dried,up worse than a post-surgical bariatric patient's ? mouth. So I immediately, filed paperwork , each, form has a name "C9 "for example. Lawyer's Secretary/paralegal said " Oh these usually settle& disburse in 30' 90 days. Oh my case was adjudicated already, Industrial Commision granted me the WIN. But let's resume the saga of Greedy Mr McGurk, the man I have paid between $46,000- 47500 in rental fees and hasn't done repairs since he first inherited from his Grandfather. Let him know as soon as this happened, went to St Vincent Society, since they are active,in my town, got a grant to pay that months bill. Did this make him happy? Not much if at all! Next, month I called , he said send me the ? money you have left,at the end of the month. Well next month was no better, still demanding, told him I can't do this, he said Pay Me first then you can think about, utilities and food. I said,i can't feed Tomkitten and myself on less than $20 a week! I don't care how you get it, go rob a bank or something. No , not robbing banks, but I went to one of those check into cash places which are still active in my state. By this time I was mentally calling it BLOOD MONEY, but I remitted his stinky moola to him. Next month, it still was not warm enough to go without gas, electric and water to pay him.Next month another one was tapped to get him what he wanted. Didn't have any other way to get that much money, all my friends are fighting similar events on a less crucial level, the rest are DEAD! Told him I would pay up any arrears when my monies came thru.
Now back to the settlement, other party is self- insured , oh you think you are dealing with one, but it's an wholly owned subsidiary. And they are sitting in their main location with hands in their pockets, so no ? settlement happens. I think they are hoping I will die!
And I hear from lawyers "Bye and Bye it will come through. Bye and Bye don't pay my current bills. Now for the maraschino cherry on. my ice cream dish, they plunked a FOR SALE plackard in my front yard. Mrs Ladylady convinced him they needed to unload this house and land, the lot size is bigger than average, the house mfft. How would you do if someone refuses to repair you, perhaps he thinks God will magically heal it? Okay I applied for utility help, was turned down because of the For Sale sign. That was July, in August I tried again, tried to explain I needed to have them paid or I couldn't get utilities connected in another place. Besides you are helping me not the dadburned house! I did get so assistance from a source I shall not name, it paid for my protein shakes etc, but not much left over there. Labdlork Mc Gurk said if I would pay him $1,900 August 31 he would drop the case , No way I know to get the ? and I told him so. Reminded him I was having Bariatric Surgery September 5th, he had known that since July 17th when I got my date, and this was poorly timed. Two days later,I got summons to appear in court September 24th. I have, been in my county courthouse twice, once to obtain a marriage license, once to obtain a certified copy of that to submit to Social Security. Now you know why I have gotten 9 hours sleep in 3 nights. Sorry to,burden everyone.???

Hello Hello it's me see I'm waving ?This is my second attempt to straighten things out. and text first time I really had everything phrased, beautifully and this stupid phone beeped in an alert, Amber Alert, somebody swiped their kid, even though she did,not have custody of him. No,matter what you are still little Henry's parents. Present an unified front for the child. Even if you think,Henry Sr is a low classed bowl of snake spit, stay in i died for little Henry. I guess, this happened. as I heard the father had custody, moved to an affluent suburb of Columbus, didnt, upsate the mama, when she found him she upped and run. Left in a vehicle with Connecticut plates. 2:50 am, how am I going to heal if I keep, yammering

Mrsplace reacted to Frustr8 in Time for surgeryI got my date on July 17 at the conclusion,of my appointment with Dr Needleman at OSU Bariatric Clinic. Suzy the scheduling Secretary plan to arrive by 5 AM for a 7 AM surgery on September 5 2018. Said wanted me to be first that day, that way if my surgery became, more complicated he could devote total attention to me. Hey, I feel honored, first time I have been first for anything. When you get repeatedly a fuzzy lollipop while the rest,of the world. gets cotton candy, you resign yourself to 2nd rate treatment, and I never stuck up for myself. How could I when I was my parents daughter, my husband's wife, my children's mother, I had no independent life, just an extension of someone else. Sad isn't it, I was never me, raised that way, lived that way. When my husband died, and I had to become me, it was scary. See, I had been browbeaten that no one could like me for myself. Been a rough 6 years establishing ME, but guess what -people do like me, I can finally seek the surgery I have wanted , that my parents and husband wouldn't permit me to have. And now I am doing it, and now I can be first in line on my surgery because my future health and ME matter, and for a few minutes I am the Empress, the person extraordinate the world waits for. AND it is Heady and thrilling! -
Mrsplace got a reaction from jacon in Yay! My Surgery is This Morning!@jacon I had my favorite Thai soup and it did not go well. Severe dumping occurred at work... -
Mrsplace reacted to Tracy1978 in Lesson learnedMaybe I should clarify that at my one month post op I was cleared to resume normal activities as tolerated. You know the saying opinions are like a-holes? This goes for doctors too. If you read these forums you will see just how different pre-op and post op diets/rules are depending on the surgeon or practice.
As for beer "eroding" my staple line; Would you say the same thing if I said I drank a fountain coke? I could understand your worry if I had said I drank a six pack. The fact is beer is heavily carbonated, and like soda, we are to refrain from it because it is empty calories and can cause excessive gas - which you have after surgery anyway.
Why on Earth would I do that? Because I am a normal human being and being social is part of that. I am not swearing off alcohol for life and I wanted to see how it effected me since I was cleared by my doctor. Thank you for your judgmental concern.

Mrsplace got a reaction from Frustr8 in Lap Band to SleeveI just had a band to sleeve revision on 7/24. Best decision ever. -
Mrsplace reacted to Matt Z in Fresh surgeryCongrats on the Revision! Just remember that us revision typically lose weight at a slower rate than those that haven't had any WLS to begin with, I knew that and the speed of loss is still really frustrating to me.

Mrsplace reacted to MIZ60 in Should weight matter in a relationship?I met my husband when I was 22 but we did not start dating until I was 25. At that time, I weighed 125-130. He was a former model and absolutely gorgeous. We were wildly attracted to each other. We married in 1984 when I was 26 and always had an active lifestyle (sailing, water and snow skiing, tennis). I never had weight problems and we had a great relationship.
In my late 40s I begin to gain weight even though there were no changes in my diet or activity level. I had multiple appts. with my doctor to do testing (thyroid, cortisol)---all normal. I gradually got up to 220 which was unbelievable to me. At age 50 I started Atkins and lost 40 pounds in about 7 months. At age 51 I quit smoking after 33 years. Over the next few years my weight really shot up and my asthma got worse. I then, in 2014, was involved in a horrible car accident and sat in my house recovering from surgery and injuries for 4 months and then forced myself to return to work but I was unhealthy, obese and miserable. I hit my all time high weight of 290 pounds in November 2017. I had gained 165 pounds since we met...
Through all of this, he was and is my biggest supporter. Our relationship has suffered in every way because I was depressed, sick and felt so bad about myself. He has never gone a day without telling me that I am beautiful and he loves me. He has always said that the only thing that bothers him about my weight is that it makes me down on myself and limits/changes what activities we can do together. I do not believe this 100% but that is the type of man he is. We especially miss being able to take trips on the Harley, which we dearly love. Hopefully back to it soon.
He is thrilled with where I am at now, even though there is still a ways to go. I know our commitment is forever.

Mrsplace reacted to Frustr8 in Feels like I am waiting for my death....I have had 2 knee replacement surgeries, had my fall bladder out in the bad old days when everthing was OPEN. I have had other surgeries, some Ambulatory some requirng hospitalization.
And at 72, a LOT CLOSER to MORTALITY than you! And I am not frightened, not a bit. Lets examine just a few reasons.
1 I really really want THIS Surgery. I started seeking it,is August 2015. I have suffered twists, turns, ups and downs in this persuit. If I tried to sell my story to TV they would refuse it as implausible, not even real enough for a soap opera, yet I LIVED it!
2. I have few people left in my family. In the 2000s I have had a lot of deaths in my life. My mother,my mother- in- law, both,in the same year, 11 aunts and uncles, some i,loved as extra parents,my godmother, many friends and acqaitances, many,of them younger and seemed to be in good health,my husband 6 years ago at the age,of 70 on the 4th,of July, yes the day I should have been celebrating my country's Independance and a son suddenly at the age of 31 suddenly. And although there a few still left to,mourn me every year the number grows smaller. It has gone from a massive funeral, wake and procession to local cemetery to a picnic, luncheon at the local park and a scrapbook for people to look at.
3. It can only improve my health, mobility and future life. A body riddled with arthritis, obesity, being short,of breath, unable to walk around the block only once before I have to rest, not, being able to sit in many chairs because they are too narrow, being more comfortable in bed then up and, moving. Sure I still have a life, but it is not giggles and laughs anymore.
4 I do trust,my surgeon. Oh Frustr8 is VERY very careful who she trusts with her body. Scars, dings, missing paint here and there on my chassis, but IT is STILL MINE. I checked out my doctors reputation, his bio, his statement of purpose, whether he had patients my age before and, most important had he ever had fatalities as a general or Bariatric Surgeon? Since i,now love ME I wanted to give myself, the very best I could. And he is perfect as a surgeon, but I still wanted to meet him, how did he present himself? He is more than a people mechanic , he will, hold my very, life in those hands. Wanted to,make sure he had no tremors or twitches. And all is good.
4 I learned as much as I could about surgeries available. I am 72, no time for "do overs" this has to be,very good. Actually had decided before I met my doctor, Dr Needleman, what surgery I would seek, sure I might listen to his medical advice, but MY BODY, MY CHOICE!
So on September 5th I will March proudly through the front doors of Rhodes Hall, the admission area before 5 AM, with a sm8le, happy that,he day has finally come. I don't know what all the steps from them on will be but I can and will go forth happily. And at 7AM, give or take a few minutes, I will be wheeled through the Operating Doors, frankly I would prefer to walk but I will make that concession. And there clad in all his Sterile garb will be my Bradley J Needleman MD, the Big Kahuna, the director of Bariatric Surgery and Metabolic Weight Loss at the Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center, a full Professor in the College of Medicine. When Frustr8 went surgeon fishing she landed herself a Trophy Specimen.I sure there will be a lot of other people there, this is, after all, a Teaching Hospital as well as a Bariatric Center of Excellence. I will go peacefully to sleep, my arms extending out to each side, I will be intubated, my gown removed,my tummy blown up with CO2 gas to the point I look like I am expecting octuplets, and quite a few more people will learn. that I am a redhead all over. Makes no never mind to me, I'll be sound asleep. And I will receive my RnY, my tool , my key to a brighter thinner future. And I expect to wake up,in the Recovery Room still smiling. What not, if I weren't lying down I'd be wagging my tail. A little tummy pain? Pish Tosh, I've had acute pancreatitis, this has got to,be a walk in the park after THAT PAIN!
I expect to be,up and walking, no Cath in place, so it will be "Tinkle Time", walk walk walk and sip sip sip until I recover in a few days to go home. Only concession to my age is I might get to stay longer.
Que sera sera!
So my young friend I am not waiting for death, I rather look to life triumpant afterwards and you should too. What came before is merely a prelude to the Future. -
Mrsplace reacted to clsumrall in Calorie intakeDuring a stall they recommended upping water and calories. Maybe add a shake -
I wanted to post this ongoing photo grouping that I've been working on with my sons. It started as a great way to show their aging, but it's also showcasing my weight loss.
2010, pre-band. I was around 370 in this photo.
2014, post-band. I was around 310 in this photo.
2018, post-bypass. I was 237 in this photo.
Just wanted to show everyone that, even just 4 years can change things so drastically, 8 years is even more amazing. Looking forward to going back and taking another update in 4 years, I can't wait to see what 12 years of changes looks like.
So when you are just a handful of days out of surgery and are feeling like nothing is changing. Or when you are stalled out for a week and are super frustrated. Please remember, this is a long term adjustment. Some folks are lucky and do see really fast results, but that doesn't mean anyone that doesn't see fast results is a failure.
Just keep looking at the horizon and taking 1 more step forward. Soon enough, you'll be where you want to be.
